Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts, wishes and vibes. They seem to have worked because PF was in tearing spirits this morning. She was stuffing her (scarred!) face when I arrived. Very little swelling on her face, hind leg and knee which is fantastic. I walked her out a bit and she was much more comfortable.

This is what she did to the jumping lane (where she was grazing, BTW)

She'll probably have a dent

Fingers still crossed for foal, but it's looking good so far.

A friends horse had a similar injury to his face and it has healed really well, no dent just a bit raised. Poor PF, hope all goes well with her foal.

I am off now to look for what happened but I am sending her well wishes here. I have to say that her face looks much better today and they heal so fast! So sorry this happened though P

I missed your first post, poor PF. Last year Gin cut her cheek in exactly the same place. I was really worried about scarring as she had loads of cuts and grazes on her face. The stitches were a bit neater and the wound was closed together more but I was suprised how well it healed. She has a small black line but you cant see it unless you know its there. Hopefully PF will be the same.
