Thanks to everyone for get well vibes, gentle hugs and best wishes. I'd like to answer everyone individually, but it would take a week with my arm in its sling.
PF trotted up sound, if a wee bit stiff, this morning. She can eat and drink but it's a bit hard for her. Vet says if the swelling doesn't go down in a couple of days, we'll have her x-rayed. I think she's probably broken a tooth.
Everyone has been incredibly kind and patient with the useless one-armed me. Lots of very dishy men have been coming up to me and asking how I am *bliss* and offering to carry stuff for me
Apparently (I'm not really sure what happened, will analyse video evidence properly when I can) I asked PF for a huge jump at that fence, and bless her heart she tried instead of refusing. I thought she'd tried to pop in a small one, but it would seem not.
My mum rang me up as I was being carted away to hospital and gave me a massive bollocking, demanding to know when I was going to give up riding... "Ermmmm... never!".
The hospital was great which was a HUGE surprise. I was seen and x-rayed very quickly, efficiently and dispatched promptly with a sling and painkillers. Went back to the show
Pain isn't too bad unless I forget and move the arm. Dressing is VERY slow and difficult and I can't wash my hair on my own, so am still carrying quite a lot of the arena around with me!! Ick!
Thanks to ali_m for the siggy. As soon as I'm sure PF is OK, I'll use it.
And yes, I did indeed say 'fiddlesticks' when I was sitting on the floor post-fall
and also yes, we did get off lightly under the circumstances
I'm not allowed near a horse for a month and possibly 6 weeks
I'll go completely batty!!! I can't drive, can't ride my motorbike, can't muck out, can't carry stuff...
Still, it could've been worse.
Pic of me and PF. You can see her swelling behind her chin in 1st pic (she's sucking a sugar cube in the photo and looks quite miserable but in fact is quite perky)
