Thanks to everyone for get well vibes, gentle hugs and best wishes. I'd like to answer everyone individually, but it would take a week with my arm in its sling.
PF trotted up sound, if a wee bit stiff, this morning. She can eat and drink but it's a bit hard for her. Vet says if the swelling doesn't go down in a couple of days, we'll have her x-rayed. I think she's probably broken a tooth.
Everyone has been incredibly kind and patient with the useless one-armed me. Lots of very dishy men have been coming up to me and asking how I am *bliss* and offering to carry stuff for me

Apparently (I'm not really sure what happened, will analyse video evidence properly when I can) I asked PF for a huge jump at that fence, and bless her heart she tried instead of refusing. I thought she'd tried to pop in a small one, but it would seem not.
My mum rang me up as I was being carted away to hospital and gave me a massive bollocking, demanding to know when I was going to give up riding... "Ermmmm... never!".
The hospital was great which was a HUGE surprise. I was seen and x-rayed very quickly, efficiently and dispatched promptly with a sling and painkillers. Went back to the show

Pain isn't too bad unless I forget and move the arm. Dressing is VERY slow and difficult and I can't wash my hair on my own, so am still carrying quite a lot of the arena around with me!! Ick!
Thanks to ali_m for the siggy. As soon as I'm sure PF is OK, I'll use it.
And yes, I did indeed say 'fiddlesticks' when I was sitting on the floor post-fall
grin.gif
and also yes, we did get off lightly under the circumstances

I'm not allowed near a horse for a month and possibly 6 weeks

I'll go completely batty!!! I can't drive, can't ride my motorbike, can't muck out, can't carry stuff...

Still, it could've been worse.

Pic of me and PF. You can see her swelling behind her chin in 1st pic (she's sucking a sugar cube in the photo and looks quite miserable but in fact is quite perky)

Glad to hear that you are both OK (relatively speaking) and it's nice to see you, that was an impressive fall sequence I have to say.

Take it easy, and swift recovery vibes to you both.

Just saw your previous post and, ...OUCH!!!
frown.gif

Hope you both get well soon!

Well, am glad that you're both relatively unscathed, albeit battered and bruised. Make the most of the damsel in distress scenario, and take some gentle hugs for you both xxx

Glad you are both okish!.

Word of advice re the shoulder.....give into it and rest I tried to bat through and ended up taking much longer to heal properly.

I am glad to see an update, and to know that PF hasn't suffered too many ill effects from such a nasty fall. And that you are being well looked after, frustrating as I am sure it is and will be for you for a while.
Gentle hug and pats coming over xx

Just read your previous post! Ouch, Ouch and double Ouch!!!!

Glad that you are just walking wounded, it looked very nasty!!

Aw hun. Having just come out the other end of six weeks off you have my empathy - gentle one-sided hugs to you! Definately recommend not moving arm as the pain is interesting to say the least (only time I've ever screamed in pain, child birth apart lol).

Glad both you and PF appear relatively unscathed considering the event. Will continue to keep all crossed!

Glad to see you are both ok (ish)

So you can't muck out or carry anything for about a month ? Is that such a bad thing
tongue.gif
Understand going nuts if you can't ride though

....Are you right handed? If so can you still draw? And take photos?

Sending more gentle (((hugs))) and healing <<<vibes>>> for PF

Milk the attention and say yes to all help that is offered......and definately take the pain killers!!

Big (gentle) hugs

to both you and PF and hope you are both mended and working again soon. Are you right handed??

PS My mum does exactly the same
a090.gif
- usually includes words like 'Don't you understand how dangerous they (horses) are? They are so big....blah blah blah blah.......'

PF - I once got home, having driven myself five miles home, with a hole in my head. Blood everywhere. My Mum, bless her, went on and on about 'How I didn't think of her, thought of no-one but myself' Blah blah blah. Then grudgingly said I'd better lie down. Ho hum.

Good news that you're both doing OK. Take it easy and let all those willing helpers help. Healing vibes for you both.

Yikes, just been to have a look at the pics. You didn't half land hard, both of you. Sending lots of healing vibes to the pair of you, am sure PF will be good as new in a few weeks. Bless her for trying so hard at that jump too, she always sounds/looks such an honest girl.

You can go see them and just watch and smile as someone else mucks out and you stand watching them chill in the field
smile.gif
Best way

I'm so glad you are ok. Our internet has been down but even on my backberry that fall looked awful. Even hubby asked if you were ok (he's something of a fan after your piccie of Sidney).
Hubby broke his elbow last year and so sympathises with you. As for not being able to wash your hair by yourself surely a fit man could come and get in the shower with you to help?!!!
