This Is George. Or Sentinelese, the name he raced under. He raced 11 times. Won 3 and was placed in all but one or two of his other outings. He broke down by blowing a tendon in his off fore and is how come he came to belong to me via Darley rehoming.

Sorry for the major pic over load,

Oooo... I have lots of photos for this type of post..

My bf and I bought our ex racer in Jan last year. We only found out her history a few months ago, and discovered the poor girl had been raced in Ireland, was unsucessfull as a racehorse so sent to the knackers yard, was bought under false pretences by a dealer, taken to England and then basically put in a stable and starved for a month. Then we bought her :D

She is now the kindest, most willing, most beautiful horse ever. She has come on so far in a year; she is no longer head shy, she rarely crib bites, she has put on weight and grown her coat. It's such a lovely feeling when she hears us coming to her field and gallops to the gate to meet us.

She also taught my bf to ride (he'd never sat on a horse before), hacks with my little sister and Mum, and gives pony rides to children. She has started competing with me and will hopefully start her BE career in the summer.

Here she is...

Ok, I spose I could join in. Seeing as you insist ;)

This is my boy, 6yo ex-racer. Silly silly horse, couldn't do a damn thing when he arrived including trot a circle or canter on the lunge, and refused to canter on the left lead reliably for a year or so! But apart from his tb moments (can be a stubborn little bugger) he's generally very sweet, easy to handle, and he does try for me. 90% of the time anyway :) He's awesome! Wouldn't swap him for the world :)
Not much in the way of recent photos but here are some anyway:)

Aaaaand other stuff. He does do dressage but for some reason not many pics..or some, from a couple months ago, but it isn't my camera, and the pictures are small and bad quality. Here they are anyway tho :P

Overload sorry! Can't help showing him off!! :)

Oooh, and this is my old boy. 15.2hh gelding. Sadly PTS due to colic. We only really did dressage and showing. He had a hell of a pop, but was hugely unpredictable and spooky, hadn't had the best treatment in the world and was really a difficult horse to handle and to ride. I was only 15/16, and at a showing yard so jumping him at shows seemed a far off dream. Haha, we did clear a metre or so at home, which was big for us then :D

Loved him from day one though, definitely one of those where we clicked straight away.

Meet Reggie (raced as Something's Up). Point-to-pointed, didn't like it so was hurdled. Liked that more, had a win and a few top 3's. Did his front suspensory and was turned out for 18 months to recover. Last October, little sister shows up looking for an eventer. A year later, and he's slowly looking like one!!!

And because it's so cute:

He's hard work at times, and can be rather opinionated. He's bloomin' big as well (17hh!)! But is now eventing at BE90 level and will hopefully move up to BE100 level with his SJ and dressage this winter before potentially affiliating him next, or just doing lots of PC Intermediates. He's bold as brass XC, totally lush!

Heres my most recent one, Lilly. She is 5 now, she raced twice and came last both times, lucky really as turns out she is obsessed about jumping so quite excited about her future as maybe event pony! Maybe even Lilly babies one day...

This is her...

I like her loads :)

Did all of you re-train yours yourself? :D
If so, I'll be needing yourhelp soon :p

ETS : They're all gorgeous :D xx

Oh yes, trained all mine and more, i was suposed to train and back youngsters/unhandled horses, but after a couple of ex-racers came my way, i was hooked;) they came straight from the sales or racing yards and once they got the hang of what i was trying teach them, they were the best horses i have rode.

I too am interested to know if you all re-trained your own?

My young man is about to turn 2.5yrs in November having been with me since start of September. He's going to turn away over winter to mature and grow up (he's already 16.1hh and still has to graze/eat Bambi-leg style so he#s clearly a long way off being near his full height) and once he's turned 3 in April I think it'll be time to start doing some stuff with him.

Yep- my sister did the majority of the retraining, we help from very experienced people. He's spent a week at 'bootcamp' when she had her shoulder op so when she got back on he would remember some manners, and when we first got him a lady schooled him alongside A's work, as we wanted it done properly so he had solid foundations to work off.

Ah ha! Just twigged onto how to upload pictures!

So, this is Harry (aka Capall Dorcha)

The scabby bits are bites and kicks from the first week or so in the field with a bunch of bullies.

Ah, he's a beaut! Capall Dorcha means "dark horse" in Irish (I guess you probably know that!) does exactly what it says on the tin ;)

Here are mine-

Shanghai Noon (Eric) 12yo ex chaser and ptp won one ptp and 2nd in one as an 8yo (I think)

Haddenhamshow025.jpg

Copper King (Copper) 7yo ex flat- won 11 races and £24k from 2yo. Now chilling in the field, will do bits and bobs or RC of Winter and then start his Polocrosse career in the Spring.

Oscar2020.jpg

Forrest Griffin (Miss Dynamite) 6yo ran in 2 bumpers and came last in both. Had a year off and after getting over her severe bucking period is now in light work in prep for her winter of RC and hopefully to start her Polocrosse career next Spring also.
