Hi, just saw a status on a Facebook group moaning about horses poo-ing whilst out riding.
"why can`t horse riders pick up there horses poo"
Not meaning to start an argument, as has happened on the fb page, but wondered if everyone shares the general consensus; horses were here first, we have the right to ride, we can't choose where the horse poops really and we can't exactly dismount, scoop it up in a binbag and take it home lol.
Someone has said horses have been poo-ing on paths next to roads, which I can imagine isn't pleasant if you are pushing a pram or wearing summer shoes and happen to walk in it, but surely on the road it can't really be helped?
Just wanted to know if horsey people had other opinions, thanks :)

If it's on the road or bridle paths then I have no problem, if it's on the pavement then I'm not surprised they're annoyed.

If you have to be on a pavement for some reason and your horse poos you need to get off and shove it off the pavement that's showing consideration to others.

I agree I'd be dismounting to get it off a pavement but I can't see an instance that I would be on the pavement tbh. However I think a lot of non-horsey people don't realise that horse poo isn't like dog poo in that it doesn't carry the pavo virus. I've explained that to a few people complaining about horse poo out in the forest walks before and a fair few of them were pleasantly surprised and didn't mind as much after that.
