She's retired now, but rest assured that it never pinched
She is a 5.5", though I used a 6" waterford as the curve of the nobbles takes up more length than something which is single/double jointed, if that makes sense?
It's gorgeous isn't it?! (though not to everyone's taste, obviously!
)
I got mine years ago through a friend that runs equineweb.com, they don't have them listed on the site but give Tony (number on the website) a ring and explain that you are madly in love with the white PVC bridles and he will source some for you I'm sure
Zilco do them too, but you don't get brass fittings with them, and it is difficult to get hold of a noseband.
just debating if the one i have bought is the right length. Got a 5.5" (i know they should br 0.5" bigger), but it was going cheap, and I thought i woukd try it. It seems to stick out his mouth quite a bit, and the rings arent tight up against his mouth/cheeks. Do you think this will be ok?
when i take the reins up on mine you see the mouthpiece if that makes sense. you can see part of the first "bubble" as it were. mine i a 5" - she is normally a 4.5". try it and see how you get on im sure it will be fine
I have never gone hugely bigger tbh, as otherwise you canget too much movement which cant be comfy either!!! SO if you have a 5 1/4 normally, go for 5 1/2, thats what i do!
I use a waterford mouthpiece on my mare and and I only went 1/2 an inch bigger. IMO if you go any bigger you will get far to much play and the nobble bits will come out of the side of the mouth and end up pinching if you get what I mean!!!!
