I know exactly how you feel, my boy was worse than her, he now looks a lot better from the side, except for top line, still looks drawn in across his hind quarters but still getting better, touching a whol forest of wood

Good luck with her

To add insult to injury my big, bullyin b**tard of a gelding jumped into her paddock last night and attacked her, he jumped over a 5ft electric fence strip! He has obviously had hold of her by her crest and has caused massive bruising to her ligament/muscles up there. She can hardly move her head up or down or side to side poor girl. She has got haynets at head height now and I have raised her water to head height too so she can drink. She has been given bute and hopefully her digestive system can cope with it. I am thinking it is severe bruising to the ligament rather than a break but the treatment would be the same anyway. i will monitor her closely but anyone had any experience of trauma like this and how they treated it?
She is clearly traumatised and my heart breaks everytime I think of what the little sod has done to her. I didn't see it happen so was unable to intervene so there was nothing I could do to him then!
She will have to go out at times that don't clash with him from now on. he is out with my young mare and never bothers with her but has taken a severe disliking to Belle for some reason. I am soo mad with him.

[****], wat a state she's in. She'd look bad for anything but for a full ID that's God awful. I haven't seen your other post (I'm going to look now) but thank goodness she's back with you now & will have the care & love she needs. Good luck with her & please post updates.

Thanks everyone; sorry if I miss answering any questions btw, it isn't intentionl.

Her name is Belle and someone else asked what happened to her. She has been neglected by the people she went to from us 2 1/2 years ago and we went to visit her and when we saw what a state she was in we persuaded them to let us have her back.

In regards to her injuries inflicted by my gelding, she seems a lot better tonight. We encouraged her to stretch down a little more and she has managed to nibble at the tops of the long grass when we took her out. She still wouldn't reach her feed bucket so I put it on top of a bucket and she reached that. She is still very stiff all over but definately a lot happier. We also appear to be getting on top of the lice wich is a bonus!

She travelled really well (i know someone asked me that) she never budged. She wasn;t happy without the partition so we moved it in and she was fantastic, very tired at the end of t but didn't appear to struggle thankfully.

I'm still feeling positive about her progress and my big fella had to do interval training tonight as punishment!!

Poor old girl, how hearbreaking for you to find her in that condition. You must be so pleased to have her back, bet you could kill your gelding though. Hope she improves steadily, would agree with Amymay, if the vet hasn't already seen her neck I would get her checked over.

We spoke to the vet and he advised to carry on as we were unless she wasn't improving in which case he would come out. She has improved immensly and is out at different times to my boy to avoid any further mishaps.

he is still up to no good and is now jumping out of my double fencing, I think he is feeling a little too well!

Things are still looking good so i shall update soon with some more pics to see the improvement in a week and i feel that there is a huge improvement but may be a little wishful thinking on my side!
