Hi all. I'm after some guidance on the best way to prepare pigs trotters for my little dog to nibble on. She won't touch them raw, but loves them cooked.

The last time I did one for her I simmered the trotter for about an hour and then gave it 20 minutes to crisp up in the oven. The bones didn't appear to have gone too hard but I wondered if this is the way to do it. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

NO thats incredibly dangerous to give cooked bones.

If she doesn't like them raw the only thing you can do is peel off the skin and flesh and just give her that. Or move on to something raw she does like. None of mine will eat trotters.
