I was going to ride little Robin again this weekend, but he has grown so much foot in the last 4 weeks (it's like he's saved it all for when the weather came nice) that the farrier is coming tomorrow for another trim (he normally goes 6-7 weeks no problem). He's over reached and hurt his heal and is a little off on that foot so I've popped his overreach boots on and left him in the field this weekend.
I rode out with a friend instead, and fell off in the most unspectacular way. It was sort of a slow motion backwards roll off the side of a pony. Why I thought lifting BOTH my knee's so dramatically to avoid a gate post was such a good idea. The consolation was I didn't land in the cow poo/mud soup in the field gateway but the soft long grass a few feet further in. I only had to go back in to retrieve my stirrup which pinged off when it got caught on the latch - what a plonker! Good job we both have a sense of humour!!
