Pitting Ademas...

Well Star is still holding on

But now seems to have developed a huge adema in the middle of her belly, it looks so odd bless her and by what ive read its a pitting adema as feels like a memory foam matress lol...

Is this normal, anything I can do? Does this indicate foaling is close?

Odema is quite normal, especially in Maiden mares. My mare had it this year for about 3 weeks leading up to the birth.

As much turnout as possible will help her loosen up and feel more comfortable

Well not sure if she will wait a few more weeks bless her, very grumpy tonight when she came in, very hot, doesnt want me near her and while i was standing there she literally starting pouring out milk again then stopped/start etc...

Going for late night check again soon...lol

My friend is betting tonight is the night...was just about to email you. Very grumpy tonight and milk back again literally i was standing watching her and it just started running out then stopping etc, very warm and belly has dropped down. Will see when go back later..

Might have helped that we've covered the window of the horse next door so he can watch, it was putting her of haha

Well the owner is a pain in the bum, made me soo cross. I offered to give him some hay or put him in stars paddock WHEN star started faoling so he did not disturb or stress himself out but NOooooo i'm not to touch him, fine i'll block the window then

Well just up the yard now and All very quiet and I'd say no new signs well apart from she's quiet and not eating her evening hay lol...hmmm. I'm sitting up here reading a mag for a while and will check AgIn x
 
My mare had odema about 3 weeks before she foaled went up and down on a daily basis...hope you don't have to wait as long...my mare dripped milk for two days before birthing because she kept knocking her wax off (bloody flies)

Ooooh can't be long now!! I am in here looking for pics of Star and baby but seems i'll have to wait a little longer!
