Has anyone else found that plait bands are not only smaller but now thinner - so they usually break mid-plait? I found some old ones in an old grooming kit and they are wonderful - much stretchier and thicker and don't break - any idea where I can get some of the old type? Perhaps the Plait Band Tree Plantations are diseased...??

I've noticed that too - it's really annoying

Ha ha...thought it was just me being over zealous- and sorry, no idea where to get decent ones, not certain they exist anymore... credit crunch must have affected elastic production!!!

I know!! Drives me crazy.

Double band them, reduces snapping....as someone who spends most of her day banding up buddles of cash, I know a lot about the effective use of rubber bands.

Good to know I am making good use of my degree....

I can't remember which mine are now but I did find some good ones recently, along with some I detest - so thick they didn't stretch or so thin they snapped.

I got some recently which were much better than the previous bunch... can't remember for the life of me where but may be these ones? http://horze.com/product_info.php?products_id=26210&n=M1

Oooo got excited then but they don't do BLACK!! Blue brown and red but not black. Thanks anyway!!!

I used to do the sewing plaits thing and had to sew plaits in my son's pony for Gosling Cup and BSPS showing but it takes FOREVER and involves needles which I am paranoid about dropping and not being able to find! Any other recommendations gratefully received!

The best ones I have found recently were HKM ones. They are quite thick and really stretchy. I think Inchs sell them
