Does anyone plait when their horses mane is wet? I am going to a show on Sunday and my horse lives out so I am thinking of bathing in the morning as we don't have to set off too early. I know that if I let his mane dry it will then be really slippery to plait so I was wondering if I would be better off plaiting it while it is still wet?

I always wet the mane anyway when I plait - makes it much neater and tighter, but you do get more of a perm effect when you take them out!

I always wet a mane to plait it. If it is soaking wet then it can be difficult to grip the hairs, but if you wash mane first, then do the rest of the horse before plaiting, it will probably be perfect.

Go and get some setting lotion, the type that comes in a little blue bottle and a little spray bottle apply to the mane, wet or dry and it will be so easy to plait!
