Honestly I turn my back for 5 minutes to do a bit of wood whittling in my shed and I come back to read this I think this seems to be the dodgy end of the fencing fraternity that's inflitrated this thread now

Wood whittling?! Oh my God, I hope you're qualified, otherwise it can be very painful for the posts. You might have to put boots on it if it's sore.

We can't have a proper debate as ollys mum only did a 2 hour course in whittling, not full training. She'll just say you all use the wrong wood preserver & don't sand properly to maintain the natural grain.
