I have noticed sometimes if a newbie joins in a conversation. nobody answers. everso slightly clicky sometimes.

[/ QUOTE ]

You've hit the nail on the head.

It's very cliquey. Some forum members are worse than others and there are a good few i'd like to tell to pi*s off, but I bite my tongue

Why not put an ad in the horse mags, How long ago was it when you had him? I understand that dealers have lots of horses. but it was worth a try,

Another 'here here' for ThomasTank... hho is mostly fab (I've learned lots!), but can definitely be intimidating at times

Good luck finding your old pony Flintus.

Oh, and hello noblehouse, and welcome!

isnt it just. I've had nowt but s*** from some people, but am learning to ignore them. I think the fact that a few members come across as very domineering and almost moderator like can be quite frightening. I know of a few lurkers who refuse to post due to people jumping on others. But I think you get that on most forums. I do think the treatment of the two earlier was out of order, they're just teens, and we were all young once.
When it gets to the point where admin have to ask members to stop bickering you know it's getting pathetic. And even then, people who had been nasty on the previous posts replied to admins post saying along the lines of "I agree".

Seriously, as the second most prolific poster on this forum (how sad is that!) I can say that this is the most un-cliquey forum and least intimidating around! Whoever, whatever goes around, there are always people are here to help

However

One of the best things about HHO is that it is predominantly an adult forum, and that is not such a bad thing - the internet is awash with forums based on teen interests and teen chat and talk - it really is nice to have an adult, debating, advice board for us over 20s to use! For me, HHO isnt the place for teen bragging and the like, do it in the Common Room by all means, but the rest of the forum is a nice place for adults to chat, socialise and communicate (I didnt and have no want to see what all the rucus was about earlier that led to an admin post, this is solely my view and no one has to agree with it!)

I have absolutely no idea what went on either

What I will say, since lots of people seem to be jumping on the "HHO is nasty" bandwagon......if you dislike everyone so much and you think everyone here is a bitchy so-and-so and filled with undesirable cliques.......... then why do you bother to keep coming back?

There are many other horse forums you know.

), BUT we can't keep the kids locked up 2/7, one or two are bound to escape (as rebellious teens always do), and we just have to accept that. 99% of the time all is great, but I am amazed that for one or two common roomers escaping all this ructus has occured.

Can people not cope??

people cant cope! i am one of those people who certain and the same users have a problem with. so instead of pressing the ignore this user, as i have and still cotinue to do for those i dont want to listen to they tend to have their 2 penny's worth...regardless of the conversation. my post this morning led to a post title FLINTUS AND PLAYBOY... at which people asked us to go to the common room, call us illetirate morons (etc) that post has now been removed! instead of saying i dont care for your post or opinion or ignoring those users they made a mountain out of a mole hill and 8 hurs later we are still tlking about the same situation...now i know myself and playboy are the height of discussion lately but im now asking nicely! STOP TALKING ABOUT US!
its petty childish and for an 'adult' forum i would of expected better. rant over!

lmao thanks every1 for the great welcome. i used to run my own chatroom so have seen so much worse. people just need to relax and realise this is only the internet. and i will always fight for an underdog, i hate bullies, and it looked like so many people were ganging up on playboy over something and nothing. and i'm sure the moderators/admin are more than capable of correcting her on her mistake (everybody messes up at times), so it should've been reported then left to them to deal with, rather than the witch hunt it ended up looking like.

but hey what do i know i'm just a noob lol

why does it annoy you? why? what harm has it done. you have made your own blood pressure rise!! why do people have to make such an issue out of it posting in every room? what business is it of your's if you can not help the girl find her horse then shouldnt that be the end of it. if admin are troubled by this im sure they will send Sam a PM. for everyone to get so irrate, troubled and upset by this behaviour is quite sad to view. i suggest if you dont want to see these posts there is a button for you to click. thank you

TBH the posting in lots of forums is just an ettiquete (oh so spelt wrong) thing - not worthy of people getting their knickers in a twist about!

I haven't asked you to apologise, and have made my feelings clear, (hopefully!), on playboy's 'apology' post.

Well I have no idea why they would say that unless the posts were in fact Common Room worthy?

How old are you both?

And it isn't terribly eddifying to repeat them.

Again I'll make what I think is a very reasonable request. Please don't use text speak and please try to vaguely spell check your posts. It makes it extremely difficult for people with learning disabilities, sight problems etc to read.

Oh I fully agree that name calling is very wrong! That is a shame.

I am wondering though. I had a peek at your profile and it states you are 23. Why on earth would anyone call you a youngter or tell you to go to CR at that age? I was a single mother raising a 3 yr old at your age. Are adults supposed to be in the common room???? I may be way off as I never go in there. Maybe "youthful" means under 30, but my thoughts were that it was for under 18.
