I don't want no nasty comments this is hard and very upsetting.
I'm after some help and advice but before I go any further I would like to add I have had physio, dentist tried different tack and this has been going on for about a year now.
Nina started not wanting to bend on the left rein thinking it's a baby thing so I have worked her and worked her, months down the line she started shacking her head me thinking it's the wind so carried on. more months down the line she still don't want to bend on the left pinning ears right back to be told to ride her though it so I have been. year down the line I rode her this morning she is worse
1f641.png
:( stopped head right in the air ears flat back shacking and shacking so I carried on pushing her though it and she was worse even in canter
1f641.png
:( on the left she is fine on the right.
I got off in the end as I did she throw her head in the air all most smacking me in the face.
Please help me !!??
What am i doing wrong ??

Have you had the vet look at her at all? Tack and physio etc. all good to have checked but I would say from what you have described it is a pain reaction to something, especially as its not getting better and seems to have got worse.

I would call your vet and discuss this with them. They may not be able to come out now until all the restrictions are lifted, unless they deem it emergency treatment.

Yes, as has already been said, talk to your vet. Sounds like pain but where and what from you need a vet to make sure. No vets are doing routine appointments, but call your vet and see if they’re doing call outs for animals in pain/discomfort.
If you can’t get the vet immediately I would stop riding her, can she go out on grass 24/7? If it is ulcers it would help her to have constant access to forage. It won’t solve the problem but it might help her a little.

Thank you everyone. I have been given advice from a nutrition she is happy with what I'm giving her due to summer just a few weeks away and grass is coming though :)
As for ulcers I was told not to worry to much as she isn't left long enough to get them again thank you all for your advice everyone looks after there horses in there own way :)

In the thread in introductions you posted the above comment which says you don't think she will get ulcers again, did you find out why she had them before and has the cause been treated? the reluctance to stretch her right side has been going on a long while, it may be linked to ulcers but they are often linked to pain elsewhere often but not always hind limb discomfort will cause them to find stretching hard.
If nothing is found find someone to help you with the schooling, it is not always easy to correct a crooked horse and needs good eyes on the ground, or a very good feel from on top.

I have just reread the quote above and may have misinterpreted it as there is no punctuation, it may be 'not left long enough to get them, again thanks' etc, either way the horse requires help but it is not really an emergency after so long, I would probably increase the forage and give her a break until it is possible to get the vet.

Is this the same mare that is in from 5pm every night with only one haynet? If so, I would strongly suspect ulcers too. I'd call your vet asap and book her in for a scope. If that comes up clear, then book a full lameness work up.

Yep, vet. It could be ulcers, but more likely to be a soundness issue imo.

You don’t mention if the Physio has been treating with vets approval, or whether the saddle has been looked at professionally....

For a start, you're not feeding her enough hay and refusing to listen to people telling you that. It sounds like she has ulcers.

Looks like you've had plenty of advice.
You need to speak to your vet, unfortunately at this point they are probably not going to see her until the covid situation changes so I would prepare to stop work/turn her away until a work up becomes possible.

Just to pull all the advice together so that it is clear:

Turn her away if at all possible, out 24/7, or at least stop riding for her sake and your own. Make sure that she has plenty of fibre to eat and is not left standing in with nothing available to eat (this is why out 24/7 is best), Speak to your vet, you could ask for a gastroguard trial without scoping under the current circumstances.

It's likely you're not doing anything wrong, but that your horse has something going on that needs investigating.

You're not going to be able to get a vet out until this is all over - a horse not being able to flex one way under saddle isn't an emergency.

The best thing you can do right now is turn her away, or stop riding her until you have the resources to have someone look at her. Try not to worry too much.

No one is being nasty or lecturing you. Everyone who has answered your question is doing so with your best interest at heart.

Here is some advice - I know you are upset, but stop crying (that won't help you or your horse) and call your vet. Your mare is most likely in pain and is desperately trying to tell you that.

You are crying because you dont like the advice but that doesn't make it wrong. Cry and get it out of your system, then get on with helping your pony.

As everyone has said, stop the hard feed, double the hay at least and soak if needs be. Look to get her out 24/7. Stop riding her and when this current lockdown is over get your vet. I'd also check teeth and saddle and have a good physio bodyworker look her over, different to the ones you have used previously. You need vet permission for a body worker to treat her, so in this instance its easier to start with the vet.

You cant possibly know she doesn't have ulcers. The lack of forage and her way of going suggest she probably does.

The only specialist you have a chance of getting to come right now is a vet, and even then it’s unlikely. But you can still call them and ask their advice, they’ll want to help you out even if they can’t come.
And a vet should be the first expert you go to, not the last. They can refer you to chiro/physio/farrier if they think it’s needed.

You mention physio. Have they treated your horse? Did they find anything? Your horse is in pain and I’d bet has a lot of tightness because of it. Pushing her through it just won’t help and isn’t very kind. It’s clear she’s not being naughty but is shouting as loudly as she can that she can’t do what you are asking.

I'm sorry, but there's no way in the world you could possibly know that she doesn't have ulcers, unless you have had her scoped by a vet. Please call your vet.

There is no point in calling a vet right now - my own appointment for a work up got cancelled about a week ago until the foreseeable future. The only thing they will be able to do is send you some Bute.
