We haven't had rain in Norfolk for ages! Well , it rained (drizzled) for about 20minutes or so yesterday but thats it! We have no grass , so we're feeding hay , we cannot canter on hacks in the fields because it is so darn hard and cracked , also we can't jump in the paddock for the same reason, can't jump in menage , too soft and deep, had a lesson in there the other day(only flatwork) , poor Foxy could barely trot it was so deep (wasn't in there long)!
Has anybody else out there had any "rain?" (You dont no how lucky you are if you have!!:D ) :)

We are the same here in Bedfordshire. I am trying to bring my mare back to fitness after her back operation but she too is struggling with the deep going in our sand/felt school so am just resigning myself to lots of walking. Never thought I would say it but yes, we desperately need the rain. But you know what will happen, It will fall all winter and then we will be moaning about the mud and wanting it to stop!!

We had a very heavy shower yesterday around 4pm in South Lincs. Think it rained a little a couple of nights before that.

I'm also putting hay in the fields & the stuff I've been trying to grow has seeded already & hardly grown.

We're on clay & the ground's like concrete.

Nope! Nothing in Bucks - grass isn't too bad at the moment though where I am thank god but it won't last long at this rate!

We had about 20 minutes of what felt like very heavy rain. On closer inspection however it has hardly penetrated the top surface of the school:(

OMG I thought you were being sarcastic!!!! It hasn't stopped raining here in S. Wales since the LAST time someone said 'Gee, we need rain' (like, 2.5 wks ago). I'm so blooming fed up of rain!!!

You can have our share for the next few weeks! :)

We're in Kent and had a tiny shower but that is it for months! No grass and none of of our crops growing! :-(

Its like winter here! Have had to bring horses back in, would be nice to have a happy medium!

Hope all who need the wet stuff get some soon and send the sun my way! :) x

Lancashire - It has rained everyday for 18 days. If not all day, we've had a good dumping most days.

Muddy gate ways :(, horses out in rugs :( and wet pooped off owners :(.

Be careful what you wish for :D.

We have had hail stones yesterday!!

We have had days of extremely heavy rain

70mph Wind too!

Luckily I'm on exam leave so went to the field to put the horses away Java was shivering! It had been quite warm then this !

Twasn't a nice experience bringing 3 horses in in 70mph wind with gusts!

Luckily got them settled with Hay and they were fine although charlie a bit on edge!

I'm glad I put them away when I went back 2 1/2 hours later there were branches all over the field which could have easily hit them!

There are trees coming down left right and centre :o

No rain in Hertfordshire for some time - I think the last time we had proper rain was the beginning of March! No grass, in fact much of my field is now dying, the only green bits are the weeds. Ground is parched, cracks appearing, and no rain forecast at all.

The farmer who grows my hay crop is very despondent, he is nearly out of hay and the crop for this year is struggling. Very depressing.

Could we please have some rain from Lancashire if you have too much? Pretty please? :)

Had a few spits of rain in Buckinghamshire yesterday, but the ground is still so hard and the grass looks like it should at the end of summer!

We have had TONS of the stuff coupled with gale force winds over the past few days :( TBH I am wishing I had never wished for the rain the other week now :(

Yeap its been on and off rain here all week, and very unwanted wind to!! I dont mind the rain but the wind is mad!! Trees were blown down everywere yesterday

Yous are very VERY welcome to our rain. It hasn't stopped for at least a week. Myself and Monty (who I think may actually be starting to grow back his winter coat, which I've spent the last two months getting rid of) are both sick of it.

The last four days the rain has been accompanied by gale verging on storm force winds. Trees and branches all over the place meaning unsafe hacking for a few days, first dressage lesson with the ginger one cancelled, arena turned into a paddling pool for sand monsters :(

We had a barbecue at the yard on Sunday - been planning it for months and sheer determination prevailed over the weather... umbrellas pitched and tied down over the barbecue, the marquee mended with aircraft-grade metal poles (stolen from Shannon airport, thank you Mr Livery's Husband aircraft man!) when the wind snapped some of the braces in two. 'Twas great craic!

Come back sun, all is forgiven!

Shropshire is the best - all horsey peeps should move here! We have had on/off rain, coupled with sunshine, for the last 3 weeks. Never enough to bring back the mud, but enought to get the grass growing and soften the ground, so no complaints here.....

Feel so sorry for those in the South east, must be impossible at the moment, and hope it comes your way very soon.

We had quite a nice shower yesterday evening (around 6.00ish) in the east of Cambridgeshire that lasted a fair while. I think we also had some rain last night, considering when I left the field yesterday evening I had a white horse, and when I came back in the morning I had a brown horse

Essex has had rain! Iv'e been back in the uk for a week and seen 4 rainfalls! we have plenty of grass and ground is fine for cantering :) also helping our school as its new and deep

There's been enough rain.. but yesterday's storm has brought 3 trees down on my perimeter fence, and as I live 'Big Tree Country' ( thanks, tourist board) it will be quite a lot of work to sort. This morning has been all emergency electric fencing.
Oz and friends stayed in for 24 hours, quite happily - they aren't stupid!

oh:) well, plenty firewood...

We've had a bit over the weekend (in East Yorks), but we've had these dreadfull high winds for a few weeks now, really getting sick of it.

Not sure where in Essex you are, but where I am, we have had the odd shower, which 10 minutes later, you wouldn't think it had rained. Our field is exactly like Llewellyn's. I am praying every night for rain. Last night was windy, grey and downright horrible. We had a couple of spits then it all cleared up again.
