Hi,

Can you please recommend a waterproof winter riding jacket? I don't want one that comes in the waist (like a blouson type) I am after one that just covers my bum, but still has a shape to it around the waist. Thick and lots of pockets.
I will pay up to £100, but will pap more if its really nice!!

Must be comfortable to ride in too!!!

Try looking in a ski shop, I have just been bought a jacket for xmas, it came from Mountain warehouse and was reasonably pried (RRP £100, but sale price £60 with and extra 20% off) It is so warm and fits really well. I love it

Never plan to go skiing but it will be great for riding

I have the musto one too in duck egg and chocolate which looks really nice. It has lots of useful pockets and is comfy to ride in.It isn't very thick but is water/wind proof so is nice and toasty

I'd go to a good outdoor shop like Cotswold and look at mid range brands like berghaus, northface, Helly Hansen, lowe alpine, mountain equipment.

Look out for goretex fabrics as they will be fully waterproof and also breathable.

For safety and comfort when riding look for a two way zip, a hood that packs away, and a rear vent.

Cuffs that can be tightened and a drawstring at the waist or bottom of the coat are useful for keeping warm, and look out for nice big useful pockets too.

Agree with this - although I tend to look at Mountain Hardwear as I think the quality is second to none. A bit more expensive but definitely worth it IMHO.
