Thanks everyone, and really sorry for those of you that have lost horses to colic too. There isn't anything that quite matches the desperation of waiting for the vet while your horse is utterly beside itself with pain. On the 3 occasions I have experienced surgical colic (Tills, Fee twice) I have found myself wishing that I had the means to put them out of their misery myself, before the vet arrived

Anyway, onwards and upwards and all that bull....

I lost a horse to colic but unfortunately he died before the vet got there despite me willing him to live - its so awful, I really feel for you
