A good day
. First, really nice to be getting in the lorry and toddling off to a show again. Secondly, the venue is really good (although it's a work in progress and the parking was a bit tight) very smart arena with banks round the edges so viewing is great.
Rosie said she was more nervous than she had been for the Fox finals at HOYS a while back or the 2* at Weston last year but she was determined to do it so she duly entered the first of the horse classes. We thought this was the BN but it turned out they had one of the rogue schedules which had escaped somehow and the first class was in fact the 95cms Open, so rather hotter competition than expected. Decided to do it anyway as she had already been warming up for ages when we found out. She was particularly pleased at how easily her Dad was able to give her a leg up when she got back on after walking the course as this had been a difficulty early on - it's funny really, something most of you take for granted I'm sure.
She went in first and I swear you could have heard a pin drop during her round. Her Mum was cowering behind a car shaking and I attempted to film - actually it helped as was something else to concentrate on
Her Dad had to go and hide when she finished as he felt a bit teary.
There was a pile of fence poles in the top corner and a nice bright Bailey's advertisement up that end too. Poncz took a dislike to one or the other and tried very hard not to go there but she managed to make him and they were off. It was a 2 phase and he jumped well except for a slight blip at one of the jumps at the scary end but R kept him moving and they ended up with a double clear. Not fast enough to be in the ribbons but who cares - she did it
Decided to finish on a high and not do the next class.

So that's the first one over and done with and hopefully the pressure won't be as bad next time. We had a constant stream of people coming over to welcome her back, all saying how well she was doing and looking - most were amazed that she was out competing again.
Towerlands next I think but she doesn't want to win any more money at BN as he'll have to move up - at least I think that's what she said.
Thanks for reading if you have - Ben & Jerry's phishfood for all who fancy some
