A good day

. First, really nice to be getting in the lorry and toddling off to a show again. Secondly, the venue is really good (although it's a work in progress and the parking was a bit tight) very smart arena with banks round the edges so viewing is great.

Rosie said she was more nervous than she had been for the Fox finals at HOYS a while back or the 2* at Weston last year but she was determined to do it so she duly entered the first of the horse classes. We thought this was the BN but it turned out they had one of the rogue schedules which had escaped somehow and the first class was in fact the 95cms Open, so rather hotter competition than expected. Decided to do it anyway as she had already been warming up for ages when we found out. She was particularly pleased at how easily her Dad was able to give her a leg up when she got back on after walking the course as this had been a difficulty early on - it's funny really, something most of you take for granted I'm sure.

She went in first and I swear you could have heard a pin drop during her round. Her Mum was cowering behind a car shaking and I attempted to film - actually it helped as was something else to concentrate on

Her Dad had to go and hide when she finished as he felt a bit teary.

There was a pile of fence poles in the top corner and a nice bright Bailey's advertisement up that end too. Poncz took a dislike to one or the other and tried very hard not to go there but she managed to make him and they were off. It was a 2 phase and he jumped well except for a slight blip at one of the jumps at the scary end but R kept him moving and they ended up with a double clear. Not fast enough to be in the ribbons but who cares - she did it

Decided to finish on a high and not do the next class.

So that's the first one over and done with and hopefully the pressure won't be as bad next time. We had a constant stream of people coming over to welcome her back, all saying how well she was doing and looking - most were amazed that she was out competing again.

Towerlands next I think but she doesn't want to win any more money at BN as he'll have to move up - at least I think that's what she said.

Thanks for reading if you have - Ben & Jerry's phishfood for all who fancy some

Haha naughty pony spoking! She is amazing, that horse does not look the easiest but it just totally doesn't phase her! Tell her well done and she's welcome a sit on my little man any day! x

Just watched the video, its very hard to believe that just a short while ago we were waiting for updates on her condition as she was so poorly.
Haven't seen her ride before her accident, but she must have been an awesome horsewoman because she is pretty fabulous now with only a few months back in the saddle. (sorry if that sound patronising, I dstruggle expressing myself sometimes)
Definately one to watch for the future.

That is truely amazing, I am not surprised you all felt a bit teary! She stayed so so calm with Poncz's naughtiness and it really was a lovely round - would put a lot of people who hadn't had an accident like that to shame. Really well done her, and you all for being so supportive, I imagine a lot of families wouldn't want their child within 200m of a horse after all you and she have been through.

Goodness, how amazing was that? Her balance seems to be very good, that cat-leap the horse did at the top end of the arena was pretty unseasting and she was fine. Does she want to be eventing before the end of the season?! Has she any fear from the fall?

A total inspiration(sp), when ever I'm having moments of self doubt, I shall think of what Rosie has been through and thankfully come through the other side and jolly well give my self a kick up the backside.!

Truely wonderful.

Fantastic to see Rosie in action, as others have said its hard to believe we were waiting for updates of a very poorly young lady not so long ago. So confidently ridden after all shes been through as well. Amazing and very inspirational.

She's riding round bigger courses than I shall ever have the guts or ability to already! And that horse certainly isn't going to let her just enjoy the ride! Wow- that report has been my favourite all year and you must be a very brave family to watch her doing that after all that's happened.

Ditto everyone else - very emotional watching that! But what a fab job she did

Poncz certainly was not being sympathetic to everyone's nerves, spooking and coming sideways at fences like that

. Throw in a couple of cat-leaps for good measure

And Rosiefan, excellent videoing, given how you must have been seriously shaking.

Well done Rosie

she is far better than a lot of us without any accident/nerves!! Was lovely to see, it wasn't even like she had a horse that was being terribly helpful!! Yet she looked totally unphased

She did so well it was so nice to see her back out again! (Shame you can see me in the video in corner taking my jacket off!!!)

She went first though Nats and you were probably waiting for a parking space so it's not surprising you missed her.

T_E - she would go eventing tomorrow if anyone would let her but she's simply not fit enough yet - her Mum was saying today that she hadn't really realised until now how very strong Rosie's legs must have been before her accident. A very kind friend has offered a well-behaved 14 year old schoolmaster type eventer for her to try some XC schooling on when she's ready - probably a good idea as Bertie isn't easy.

Thank you all very much for the encouraging comments. Poncz didn't make it easy, he has loads of scope but he's only 6 and quite green. She said today that she was happy with what happened yesterday but on thinking about it this morning in the shower she decided she was actually very pleased with how it went and reading these replies will help to confirm that she's right to be pleased

Boff and I have just watched that. Wow. Rosie is amazing.
What a gift she has, it shines bright even after all she has been through.
We look forward to many, many more reports....
