hi, one of my ponies a 14 yr old mare has recently had a bad dose of scouring, I am trying to work out the cause to avoid this happening again. I had soaked the hay she was on and thought it may be due to the hay wash getting dirty and a little fermentation going on,I put her on dry hay and her poo did firm up and she has no scouring but is still tender in her tummy and has not returned to her ball like drops. I have moved her to a small bare paddock to ruleout any dandelion or poisonous plants being ate, she has no appetite for her hay, she will eat a little alpha a lite but due to this problem arising at the same time i started a new bag i wonder if she could be alergic to alpha?? i am now trying honey chop, she has a large hand of pony nuts, salt garlic and drop of veg oil. i have given her a worming dose tonight as she only came to mine last summer and i not sure of history with worming. she is on pink powder starting tonight. She is standing most of the day with very little interest, she does still come over for a lump of bread but she has deff lost her mojo?? Any advise in any form greatly appreciated, ps she is a welsh b, also her stable mate is a b, 5yr who eats same diet with no problems at all!
