Was wondering if you guys could give me some advice?
Our livery yard stables horses out 24/7 during the summer, but the ponies in my field are good doers so we have an arrangement with the other owners and take in turns to bring in during the day to keep them off the grass. There are my two and a sweet little pony who come in every day without fail. There are then two other ponies (A + B). Both are owned by the same person, but one is shared/loaned by another lady.
At the start of the summer, all 5 were coming in without fail. But sharer of B feels she should be out so owner of A + B is now sometimes asking us to leave both out. Perfectly fine with this. But, we're beginning to have problems with pony B. Whenever removing from the field she comes up behind and tries to push out the gate. Twice now she's managed when sneaking past my own boy who isn't great at spinning around gates to allow them to be closed quickly.
I'm not sure if she's worried that she's going to be left alone, or what has suddenly started causing this.
Unfortunatly, pony B is also tricky to catch, so it's not an option to just catch a hold of her so she cannot cause problems.
When up this morning we managed to keep her in the field as my sister went first with her pony, we sent sweet little one through next and then I went last. She was definatly trying though.
Any ideas on how to deal with this?
