I'm currently 14 stone something and dieting, I ride a 14hh HW cob and also my own horse
fudge-1.jpg

My vet & RI have told me that I'm not too heavy to ride him, even though he's 14.3hh and only has 9 inches of bone.

This is me 5 foot 3 inches, riding my 13.2hh, I was about 10 stone 7lb here (terrible pic about ten years ago, excuse my bad position I don't ride like that any more

LOL, I figured it was Sen the Arab

She was a picture that day. We were riding in a procession and there were all unfamiliar horses around up (some of which were acting up) plus paired up with the fact, the parade was running an hour late, did not make for a happy mare!

Oh poor her. She is very pretty though, even with her "grumpy face" on

I had a lovely AA that I evented for years - only 15.1 but heart of a lion and HUGE sense of humour!

I would post pic of him but don't know how

I do hate seeing over weight people on horses or ponies of any size though. It must be uncomfortable for them.

depends what you class as overweight, I AM overweight if you go off the BMI scale and I'm not by any stretch slim. But I am toned, fit and heavy all at the same time!

My doctor says I am heavier than I look

oh please dont get me wrong im not too precious about these sorts of things, i actually mean overweight as in too heavy for the animal in question.

Its interesting as i have looked at the OP that started this one (about the TB what weight can it carry) and i think its so hard to judge by weight, its how you carry yourself, how fit you are etc and how you ride.

Weight can be a very very decieving thing indeed. I am a lot heavier than a lot of bigger people than me. muscle weighs more than fat so if im a bit heavy i console myself its bcos i ride so much!!

and of course not because i eat too many pizzas!!

This is me (all 5ft 10, 10 1/2 stone of me!) when we were breaking in my currently 13.3hh gypsy cob. He is still growing so hopefully ill stop looking so daft once he fills out and hopefully grows another inch or 2! (and excse the tight reins)

Somehow I make Flash look absolutely tiny....

flash200807202.jpg

but I'm 5ft 3, 10 stone...and he's 15hh! I think it's because he's all leg and somewhat compact, he fits into a 5ft 6 rug with room to spare
