I'm sorry MizElz but most of you are showing pics of you and your lovely horses looking great together - where do you draw the line?

It doesn't matter if people are "just tall", overweight or whatever. Too big is too big.

That is only my opinion so please take no notice.

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont think a line needed to be drawn; the intention of this thread was not to make people post and be slated, it was just a bit of a laugh. Obviously if someone had posted an image of a horse clearly keeling over beneath some colossal weight, then it wouldnt have been funny - but I cannot think of a single forum member who would be foolish enough a) to subject a horse to that kind of situation and b) tell us all about it, even when prompted.

Maybe I am not fit to judge, but I have seen NO problems at all with anyone's photos they have posted here

Anyways, I have had a giggle tonight and I hope some other people have too!

I'm off to get some ugly sleep now, nightie night

Seriously though, I'm too embarrassed to 'fess up how much I weigh, but by all accounts PF should be flattened!

lol he certainly doesnt buckle under my weight! im hoping to lose weight over the summer anyway so by the end of the year and he starts work properly i wont be as heavy.

starbucks - he has just turned 3. so hoping he has alot of filling out to do still, he was owned by pikeys and basically hes been underweight most of his life, so im feeding him up, and giving him the quality of life hes never had. and before you say anything, all ive done so far is walk him round in a circle twice in a month! and that'll be all i do untill hes put on more weight!

Untitled.jpg

this is a still off video today, plus im wearing about 4 layers and baggy bottoms! AND my stirrups are still too long lol

Well done for rescuing him from the pikeys.
smile.gif

To me, he looks more like he should have a child on him (if anyone ATM), but you know your horse better than me, and I'm sure it won't hurt him going in a few circles.

actually im gonna start letting my sister sit on him, once or twice a month as she is only 8 stone, just till his back muscles build up a bit. im hoping given he's had such a bad start in life that hes gonna grow a bit and fill out alot in the coming years now hes being fed properly!! :-)

hee hee thanks
smile.gif
i would tell him that but he knows hes gorgeous! i tell him every day! he has a massive ego!!
grin.gif

yeah the vet looked at his teeth and hes just lost his baby teeth and adult ones are coming through now.

he still needs a lot of weight, but hes improved alot since i bought him, hes been properly wormed, having 3 haynets overnight and 1 in the day plus hes on a paddock now that hasnt been grazed all winter, and this weekend going out to buy some weight putting-on feed, so im hoping with all that, he will get up to scratch in no time!

I'm not normally on here at this time, but I've got a rotten cold and can't sleep!
I don't feel I can join in as I have a 16hh tb native cross so even at 11 stone I can't really say I squish him. I did get on one of the ponies at our yard (13.2) a couple of times but no pictures I'm afraid!

My main reason for posting was to say what a fun thread, and that some people need to lighten up

My tubby hubby on a 15.2 polo pony

MrFdoingpolo.jpg

on his 17+ irish (now deceased) probably becuase he is such a fatty and squished it!
PoPo.jpg

and the absolute cruellest... He was 11.5 stone at 5ft 10 and a half and rode this poor skinny creature....

This horse would 'tigger' and jump with all 4 feet off the ground at once setting car alarms off around Newmarket

He was called Humpty dumpty ( the horse not hubby) and was such a delicate flower!

NON OF YOU FATTIES ARE LIGHT ENOUGH FOR HIM LOL!!!!!!
p.s I am fatter than hubbs!

I think I'll join in on this thread. I'm a chunky 5' 5" and my pony is only 13.3 hh. She is a native though and is definitely not struggling to carry me, since I weigh considerably less than the dead stags she was bred to carry
smile.gif

Can I join? I'm 5'7, weigh 8 stone and I own/ride a 14hh Haffie.

Merlinshow.jpg

I used to school a 12hh exmoor pony as well. I think he looks pretty squished, although it didn't stop him pissing off with me at every available opportunity.
laugh.gif
gotta love exmoors

I am 5`4" and I never dare weigh myself, just judge how I am doing by how tight my jeans are!
blush.gif

I am riding my daughter's previous pony, a chunky NF 13.2hh, and he still manages to buck, spin, spook and tank off with me every hack, so I dont think he is struggling too much.
grin.gif

I desperately want to be on something a little bigger, so my search continues ....

I am terribly cruel riding Ellie who is a 16hh IDx.

I am 14 stone.......
blush.gif

ETA: Yes Ellie isn't in fantastic condition, she came to me in December looking very poor but has put weight on and is looking much better!

Fourteen stone (yikes!). Five eight and a tiny bit. Long legs. A short (but wide!) ar$e.

Ride a:

13.2 and a little bit hh Tradtional Cob, who's more than happy for a fast canter or two with me on board
grin.gif
. Back lady and vets all say I'm not a problem for him;

got well and truly bucked off a 13.1 Welsh Moutain cross (took five goes, but he did it). As he's got rid of nearly every other rider, think it's him rather than a weigt issue lol. I'm using him as a milestone point - I'll ride him again when I'm a stone lighter;

and I positively squish my 16.3hh coat rack of a Dutch Warmblood. You can see her ribs (though the amount of Blue Chip Original going down her throat you shouldn't be able to!). Can't see the saddle flap for thigh!
blush.gif
. Saddler says with a properly fitted saddle I'm well under what she can carry. And, as she continues to leap around like a loon and manages to pop back up out of ditches she's gone down backwards, I don't think my weight is an issue
cool.gif

I'll borrow another machine and post some pictures - I have to say though, and this is nothing to do with thinking I'm too big for any of our neds really (other than a stone too heavy for LL), after seeing, or rather not seeing the saddle on my big girl, I am re-doubling weight loss effort, but for me, not for anyone or anything else as my neds are perfectly happy carting me around
