Ro has brought a whole new meaning to phrase 'pony squishing'.

Last night, Kenzo got pony squished!

But it's ok folks, my lungs are now able to inhale air once again and my rib cage has sprung back to it's former shape, my back no longer looks like a tree bark rubbing of a brick wall.

Ro likes to rub herself up against the wall when her rugs/flysheets etc are removed, its an old habit her owner has let her do, now I tell her to stand stop doing it because a) she could slip on the concrete and b) its dangerous and just annoying really, so I can proceed to groom/tack up etc but this time she caught me off guard and pinned me up against the wall where I was compressed/vacuum packed by a rather over weight section D.

Not nice and no it didn't tickle....just wondered if anyone else has ever had this pleasure?

Not exactly the same but Zoom was fannying around on a sponsored ride when we were walking up a hill in a kind of narrow passage with two big banks on the side.

She then fell over, completely upside down! Luckily I grabbed some roots and didn't get dragged under but she crushed me against the bank. Luckily i didn't break anything but was very sore........my poor ribs ached for weeks.

Silly pony!

It reminded me of years ago when I had a car accident (one of many) and the other person was not wearing a seat belt and they got thrown onto my back onto my chest/lap with the impact, 13 stone is like 30 stone in 50mph impact! and I was totally squashed, I couldn't breath properly for months ...it was terrible, well it reminded me of that and I nearly had a total panic attack afterwards, so it really scared me.

All you see was my little legs paddling away at the bottom and my red face and arms flapping around frantically at top trying to get her off me, I tried to shout at her but of course just this little squeak came out lol!

Funny now but not at the time, bloody stupid creature!

Dante heard a strimmer outside a few weeks ago while I was grooming him in his stable, and jumped sideways, pinning me between him and the wall - so I couldn't even move my arms to shove him out of the way xD Luckily he remembered I was there when I yelled at him and shifted pretty fast... then he looked at me as if I was crazy... silly creature!

My mare does this when she's in season. She'll swing round suddenly and pin you against the wall. Various experts have said 'just poke her in the ribs and she'll move over'. This does not work with her - the more you poke her the harder she squishes you - not funny with a 500kg cobby thing. I now avoid getting in that position and warn anyone else handling her eg vets, farriers what she's like.

Oh dear, hope you're ok now and she doesn't do it again.

I've been pony squished in every sense of the word i think. Old loan pony used to pin you against the wall and then try to kick the hell out of you. In the end the only thing that would stop him from killing you was a big thick tube of foam which made a lovely noise as it thwacked his bum.

Also a very highly strung mare i shared pinned me against the wall a couple of times when she heard her friend come into the yard outside the barn. She was that worked up she didn't even know i was there. That hurt. Especially as she got up momentum from the other side of the stable.

So i can completely sympathise <<very gentle hugs>>
