Pony with itchy belly

My mare has a really itchy belly, along her mid line. I can’t see any skin irritation or visible cause for the itchy ness. The flies have really died down the last couple of weeks so I don’t think it’s fly bites.
Any ideas on what it could be and what I could do to relieve it?

Id try antihistamines firstly, could it be midges? We are still terrible here for midges

Based on the weather recently, I can’t understand how they’d be biting while wearing scuba gear!
Flies and midges have died right off in the last 2 weeks.

Im in quite a wooded area must be that. Warm and humid still wee biting buggers lol.

One of my mares got an itchy belly when she was heavily in foal, she would rub it on bales of straw. Could he/she have a bit of low grade colic ?

One of the itchiest places for mine with sweet itch. I'd give the midline a coat of neem or one of the sweet itch creams like the bite back one.
