A friend texted this to me at work and made my day!!!!! :D

I owned a mare slept like that in her stable too. We were always waking her up to see if she was ok and getting phone calls about a dead horse in the field she just liked a blooming good kip Bless her!

Zoomy always sleeps like that, she got it from Monty. I would always come down, see him in the field and start crying thinking he'd passed away!! :D Zoomy has interesting dreams, she's fizzy even when she's asleep, legs going and ears twitching like mad :D

I have to say, it made my day when I got the photo. It's a hard life!

Took me until I saw him asleep and 'following hounds at a fair lick' to discover the origins of my old pony's mid-cannon scrapes. He used to make squeaks and grunts as well. He must have been more exhausted after he woke up than before he went to sleep.

ha ha ha! Love the picture of Zoom - I suppose it's like the equine version of us humans after a good sunday dinner : )

Ah bless her lovely pic. y old horse always worries other livery owners as he loves to lie flat out in the field and ignores all calls/shouts etc until you actually go up and poke him. I am forever getting text messages from concerned liveries saying they thought something was up but no just having a kip in the sun!

Lol....that pic made me giggle :D

My mini sleeps like that. I remember the first time I saw him sleeping like that....it was just after he'd been turned out with the big boys (smallest was 14'3) I went to check on them the following day and all I could see was a lump on the ground right at the bottom of the field. I called and called and there was no movement. I sprinted down the field, still calling and thinking the worst. Imagined he'd been kicked in the head and died or something. :(
Got within 10 foot of him and called him again. He just lifted his head and blinked at me sleepily. He was out cold sleeping the whole time enjoying the sun. I on the other hand nearly had a meltdown!
