Hi hope you can help.
My BC has had an upset tummy since Thursday, we are off to the vets tomorrow but was wondering if any of you had any words of wizdom.
He has a very sensitive tummy any way, any diviation such as treats like pig ears etc, some chews can cause him to have an upset tummy - hence we are very careful what he has to eat.
He had a session simular to this last year only difference was that he was not drinking or eating then - he had an infection in his intestine which a course of anti b's and painkillers sorted.
He messed on the floor Wednesday night and was sick in his basket so I did not give him any breakfast on Thursday. He had some rice for dinner that night and for breakfast on Friday. Turned his nose up at the rice Friday night and Saturday morning (toilet still consistancy of water) so I rang the vets.
Vet said to keep him off food that day (sat) and try him on some chicken and rice the next day (sun) - if he was still not eating to phone the vet up again.
Sunday he ate the chicken and rice both for breakfast and dinner with no problem - but last night he messed in the kitchen again (not the sort of mess he could of helped if you know what I mean) - so back to no food again today.
Apart from feeling a little sorry for him self on Saturday he is bright and alert so I don't think he needs to see the vet today (although of course I would take him if I thought nesseccary or if he did not eat yesterday)
He is up to date on his vacs (had booster at beginning of March) - he obviously has a very upset tummy although I am a little worried about there being a blockage as he has been known to raid the rubbish bin. I can not feel any hard bits in his tummy but don't really know where I am susposed to be looking.
Does any one know what the symptoms of a blockage are?
He's only been sick once, drinking well, ok in himself, sporadic eating but toilet still like water.
Any old wifes tails I could try today to settle his tummy?
Sorry its long and a bit hard to follow ;o)
