Megs decidedly off this evening. Normally sleeps from about 8pm and is pretty settled at night but she never really relaxed after her tea and at 11pm threw the whole lot up. Hope it’s just a gastric bug but she’s a very low pain threshold Lurcher so seems very distressed at the moment. Watching gums and keep checking her tummy for swelling or pain.

I found my lurchers were more prone to digestion issues than other breeds , one of mine used to get very watery poos, and was very stressed about it. I can’t count the number of vet visits, hope the vet visit goes ok and your lurcher recovers quickly.

I completely understand your worry @pistolpete about details such as that she never chooses to sleep on the floor, yet, today, there she is, on floor level. Such changes subconsciously nags on your brain, sending you signals that something is wrong, which is much harder to ignore when you know that she actually isn't completely well. But you've been to the vet, who couldn't find anything bad, so all you can do is bite your nails (figuratively), and hope that her body is simply needing time to self-heal.

I've read that you can't always tell on a dog's sleeping position if they're sick, but I still think that they sometimes have a certain tenseness in their body when they're really sick, and if you forget that she hasn't eaten, and that she's on floor level, then in my eyes she looks reasonably relaxed in your photos.

Nope won’t eat won’t drink hence syringing, my vets have out of ours cover by another practice so no chance of seeing same person again this weekend. I’ll assess her in the morning. She’s not well. Only five so age on her side.

Anecdotally I’m hearing of a lot of dogs (on FB and family/friends) not being well in the last couple of weeks. My own dog well Thursday/yesterday and I got quite worried about him last night, but he’s perked up today (monitoring closely still of course). Perhaps there’s a virus going round or something. (No data to back this up, just my own musings!)
ETA hope your lurcher picks up soon OP. Such a worry, wish they could talk to tell us what’s wrong!
