Sorry BBs, missed this post! Thanks for that, will keep up with the good old green stuff and keep fingers Xed. It WOULD have to rain now wouldn't it, think I will be sticking to the tracks rather than any muddy field work
Oh no! I missed all this! Poor P! I'm glad she's ok though. It's horrible when they have an accident in the trailer... especially when you get to the show and the f***wit groom breaks the news....
Oh lordy - poor girly! What a fab ponio though! B's coronet injury took 11 months to fully grow out and even then because of the lack of support underneath the new horn, the lower came away and her foot had to be filled a bit for nailing a show to for the grading! Has she had any AB's?
get some aloevera on the corenet wound. when our lad had his accident he was out in the field within 4 weeks (major damage) and has not scarred, and the wound on his corenet band didnt cause anyproblem at all, vet decided it the wounds were to big to stitch so pressure bandaged them and we put aloevera on it every time the bandages came off which was every day as he liked to rip them off with his teeth.
the coronet injury
the coronet injury 4 weeks later (you cant see much of it on that photo but its just a small scab under the wet hair)
and his knee injuries
and the knee injuries 4 weeks later (after his first day in the field)
i cant recommend the stuff enough, but try and get it as pure as you can. we have an aloevera plant so ours was 100% pure
