Post party work

My young sharer took my pony to a little show yesterday. She did a couple of showing classes and a jumping class. I don't do competing so don't know what I should do with him tomorrow. He can have a day off - he's in a bare paddock so can come out and free graze on some better grass while I do some jobs or I could take him out for a walk in hand for 30 minutes so he can loosen up and then let him graze. I don't mind which - I'm just not sure which would be better for him.

it doesn't sound like an unusually strenuous outing so assuming pony is fit and well I'd just continue with his normal routine

Echo that. If he is fit that level of competition is nothing. Usual work tomorrow.

The science says they're better off doing some low level work the next day, so a walk either ridden or in hand would be good for him.

I only give my mare a day off (usually Monday) if she's had a couple of days of competing (dressage and showjumping). Showing I am back working the next day
