Post Titles That Make Your Heart Sink....

OK, I know I'm cranky because I've not had any lunch (yet!) but are there any post titles that have this effect on you? Perhaps because you KNOW they'll start a huge kerfuffle and will go on forever, OR because the subject has been done to death and just goes round in circles...??

That's NOT to say I think people SHOULDN'T post about these things if they're interested, just that I probably won't be reading...

Titles that do it for me are ANYTHING to do with Parelli (There's really nothing very new there!!) Barefoot (or not) horses (people get sooooo het up about this!!) and almost every thread about Hunting...
Also any thread in which one person claims that there is only one way to do something/item of tack to use etc, etc...

I kind of agree, but being relativley new us fellows dont always now what has been covered before - but I thnk I am like you, certain titles I dont even bother reading

the 'all the gear no idea' type posts. If it makes someones life easier why not use it?

BTW - this post title might cause a kerfuffle
 
Nothing really makes my heart sink, if I don't find it interesting, I won't read it.

Topics that annoy me the most are ones like "AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" that look like they might be interesting, and then when you open them its like "........I JUST HAD 3 COOKIES FOR LUNCH" which makes me roll my eyes.
 
Nope, being fairly new I dont know what has been done to death before, and so probably read 90% of the 1st page of new posts when im on, only takes 10 mins, and I like a heated debate!!! Its nice that people have different opinions on things, if we were all the same it'd terribly boring!! Its a shame if the long timers on here dont read posts from newbies just because they have been done before, as the newbies could be missing out on valuable advice/knowledge!!
 
I absolutely agree about the post titles that give you no idea what it's about. And the ones that say: Help. But again, don't tell you anything. I don't think you are cranky at all.

I only read posts if the title grabs my attention. Anything vague and I ignore it (unless it has multiple pages then obviously either it's really interesting or something's kicking off!)
I have skipped the parelli and barefoot ones because I can't be bothered to read the new old debate. Have participated in the rollkur one as I was bored!
Although, obvious troll posts I HAVE to read!

Mmmm can't imagine any recent posts that might have brought this about...

I get annoyed with the "Quick reply to this..." type ones. No. Sod off. I'll reply as slowly as I lke.
 
I think thats a bit unfair........ you HAVE to read troll posts that you know are'nt for real but someone who actually wanted some advice's post goes unread.... as you've read it before...... maybe I'm missing the point of this forum.... think I probably am!
 
I think it all comes down to, everyone uses forums for different things, those that are learning tend to read everything, those that have been here a while, I can fully understand your point of view and rolling your eyes at posts being retyped on the same subject.

But in defence to us newer people, we don't mean to annoy you, we just value opinions of a friendly and approachable forum.

It was a joke!!! I don't HAVE to read troll posts, I do only if I'm incredibly bored and would much rather read a post with a precise title asking for advice, and help out if I can. Anothes thing that bugs me though is a post that has clearly been covered before... there is a search facility! If I read a post asking something that has been asked before, I generally won't reply as it just annoys me! Maybe that really IS me being unfair though!
 
Search facility is pants though! used to be really good but now they changed it its crap!
 
Not really TBH, being new here means I haven't yet seen all the debates that have been 'done to death', and if I don't like the look of a post I won't read it, I don't think I've ignored one yet though

Why should anyone be "Sorry" about posting on an open forum if it falls within the terms and conditions of the forum?

It is always "Sorry, another how much post"! Why be sorry? I am happy they have let me know it is a "How much" post so I don't read it.

So long as the heading gives you some indication as to the content of the post then I can pick and choose what I want to read.

It is a forum for everyone to use and benefit from.

PF - don't get me started! But I have had my dinner so am not as irritated as I might otherwise have been.

Anything that starts WTF - you just know some kind of rant is coming, and people who rant generally are not open to any alternative point of view

Anything with URGENT - unless it is really urgent, in which case call the vet if you are that worried.

Anything to do with wands, bandages or other new age nonsense

Most posts that are lunch/dinner related - I just ignore them

Anything related to Big Brother, Lost, I'm a Celebrity or any and all other chav TV - again I don't even look so it is just as well they are clearly titled, I suppose

Im not into all the natural horsemanship stuff but I will read with interest if I have time. theres always something useful to learn from everyone no matter what background they come from.
