I am diabetic so I eat low carb, so the only really fast food I can have is Itsu high protien pot noodle.
Go down any supermarket international food section and there are so many varieties, but the noodles themselves are pretty much a pot noodle, there is even a brand that has been banned because its so hot.

I had one of these today: https://www.naked-noodle.com/products/naked-noodles/singapore-style-curry

To be fair I usually make my own noodles for lunch (lime juice and fresh chillis, mmmm) but I've been away and that was a left over emergency snack.

I have only eaten the green pot noodles, that and a can of Red Bull (plus a few Marlboro lights) was my standard Saturday at the yard lunch, now I have the horses at home I have no excuse not to make a proper lunch!

My favorite is bombay bad boy closely followed by chicken and mushroom but I usually use half the noodles and all the mix from a second pot if chicken and mushroom for extra flavour and then put loads of kikkoman soy sauce in after!

My friends Mum used to go to Safeway in the early 80's and she used to buy them for my friend and his siblings I was about 12 at the time. I begged Mum for years but she kept saying that I wouldn't like it and it was a waste of money, until she finally relented when I was about 14 and served it on a plate with a knife and fork lol, Mum eats KFC with a knife and fork! After my first foiree (sp.) into pot noodles I never looked back.

Since I started Slimming World I've only had one BBB which is good for me as it used to be my Saturday and Sunday breakfast staple!

Not had one for years. My sister has them occasionally and I think they smell foul.

Favourites use to be the sweet and sour and the chicken and mushroom, with the curry one occasionally.

As a student, I'd often have the cheaper Chinese ones for lunch.

When I worked with horses in my late teens 30 odd years ago, pot noodles literally kept me alive in winter! 🤣

Back then the choice was chicken and mushroom or beef and tomato. I remember being very excited when the curry flavour pot rice came out! Also remember the chow mein one coming out, which was vile IMHO.

I do have the very occasional bombay bad boy - that one is very moreish.

Chicken and mushroom were my go to as a student, cheap and cheerful. Teamed with cheap white bread, food of the gods!

It’s the go to at the yard for the grooms too. These days, tho, Nong Shim is more likely for me, Korean pot noodle, apparently. Very warming!

I love them, but I can’t eat them because about an hour later I feel so ill. Not sick or anything like that, but it just does weird stuff to me and makes me feel this awful malaise. Weird.
That'll be the MSG - mono sodium glutamate. My friend gets that when she has Chinese takeaways.

Intrigued by, and following on from, a recent post, how many of you have never had a pot noodle? How many of you have them to thank for your survival? How many of you eat them as a daily staple?
None of the voting applies to me. Yes I do have the beef and tomato one ready for when I fancy one as it is vegetarian surprisingly. Only the B&T one don't like any of the others inc the rice ones, the only thing is the liquid once the water goes in is more watery than it used to be that is y only neg

I have eaten a pot noodle but not since I was at school so that's over 30 years ago! My OH eats them hence we have them as emergency food in the campervan and on the boat. My emergency food is tinned rice pudding which has the added benefit of being edible cold or hot.

They taste completely different to how they used to though. Less salt for a start. Less parsley in the chicken and mushroom one too.

I'm another one who used to have one for lunch every weekend when helping at the riding school :) Chicken and mushroom all the way! Haven't had one in years although I have had a similar pasta in a mug thing recently when I went away for a weekend and didn't want to pay for an evening meal!

I’ve eaten a couple of chicken and mushroom ones this year and I always keep one in case of emergency! I used to take them to the stables when I was helping out as a child and also to school too!

I had one a few years back having not had one for years.
I felt a bit 🤢 afterwards.
I used to live on chicken and mushroom.

I voted that I keep one ICE, but technically they're Koka noodles, do they count?

Honestly and I’m sorry but I don’t think so. Pot noodles are their own special, weird, Marmite-like thing, no other noodles in a pot are quite the same.*

* they may be better, healthier, tastier and less smelly, but they still are not and never will be, a Pot Noodle.

Full disclosure: I’ve never had a pot noodle, but I have had super noodles. What is the difference other than how you make them? Is there more sauce to a pot noodle?
