I can’t remember the last time I had a Pot Noodle. Unless they have changed they are vile and used to taste like cardboard. I first had them one in the mid 70’s when as a family we were driving to the south of France in our old VW camper van. My mum thought it would be a quick and easy meal once we got to that nights campsite. It was but we were starving after about 15 minutes of eating them.

During Covid my dad took this notion for going to makro and buying boxes of things. One being pot noodles. We still have about 50 in the house and I don’t think I could ever eat another. We ate so many when the weekly food shop was all gone they now turn me.

I've said not in the last 10 years, and even then I could count on 1 hand probably the number of times I've had them

However I did go through a spell of having Naked Noodles recently for work - the posh persons pot noodle 😉

I’ve never had a pot noodle… my go to teenage yard lunch was instead the little packets of pasta & sauce dolmio did for small children that you could wang in the microwave as we were very spoilt in that the tea room had a microwave! Probably similar level of nutritional value tbh just more spendy! I also went thru a fair amount of instant pasta packets & the actually quite nice microwave packets that Heinz used to do with pasta & sauce inside when I was at Uni (I think the Heinz ones literally existed for the few years I was at uni & then disappeared… kinda miss them tbh!). The sole reason for not having pot noodles is that I don’t like noodles / ramen.

God, that's a blast from the past. I survived on them in my early days as a trucker. Now we have microwaves and fridges in wagons so things are a bit more sophisticated!

As a kid I didn't really like them, but my older sister loved them. She would have one for lunch at the stables using the kettle out of the caravan/canteen. She once found a dead spider on top of her noodles after she had put the water in. We were all convinced it had come out of the kettle but see was adamant it was in her pot noodle. She wrote to golden wonder and complained. A golden wonder rep came round to the house to she the evidence (a couple of weeks old by now) and practically filled out house with pot noodles and crisps (probably other golden wonder stuff too) and got my parents to sign something to say them wouldn't go to the papers. My sister refused to eat the pot noodles after that so all the grooms and liveries had free lunches for a while.

I love a pot noodle now and still believe the spider came out of the kettle. 🤣

Intrigued by, and following on from, a recent post, how many of you have never had a pot noodle? How many of you have them to thank for your survival? How many of you eat them as a daily staple?
I am an ICE Pot Noodle Consumer. I open water swim, so they're perfect for winter swims, followed by yard visits. Hot drink immediately after swim, then pot noodle at yard before I get on with jobs/riding. Chicken and mushroom for me.

Got to be the chicken and mushroom. I may have been known on occasion to eat them dry.......
Yes! I went through a phase of eating them dry when I was a teenager, haven't had a dry ones for years (decades...) though.

I still rely on Pot Noodles a couple of times a week for 'lunch' when I've worked the morning at the yard, as more often that not I forget to take a real lunch. It takes me ages to eat though as I have to pick out the bits of sweetcorn as they are just disgusting.

For anyone with a CostCo card, you can usually get a tray of 12 for about £9, works out to be under 80p each, whereas in shops now they're usually over a pound even when on promotion.

(all of the above is only relevant to Chicken and Mushroom - the others are bleurgh 🤣 )

I keep one or two in the cupboard for emergencies! Only sweet and sour here as I don't like the others!
I'm another that was introduced to them when I helped on yards when I was still at school!

I love a lot noodle! I usually have one in the cupboard, they're nice when you're really hungry.
I used to work with a chef ,his food was amazing. But, he used to send me to the shop to buy a Bombay bad boy lot noodle and a pasty. He paved the pot noodle with Tabasco and dunked the pasty , no accounting for taste lol

Another one that, as a child, was kept an inch from hypothermia at the yard on saturdays by pot noodles 😂

I assumed I couldn't have them as I'm almost vegan but it turns out even some of the meat flavoured one's are vegan.

I might have one very soon just for the nostalgia of them!

Thank you HHO.
