potential colour

Yes please do, I'm sure there is more sensible discussion to be had now the Corona-sillies are dealt with ?

Oi, what's happened to my thread?! ?

I looked and saw the amount of replies and thought wow. Only to discover that you lot had completely derailed it. I blame covid lockdown.

I shall blame you when I get a bay filly instead of a dun colt!

Yes, EP, you are correct. I got her straight from the drift as a 5 month old foal. ?

I wouldn't disagree with you there! ?

Rather frustratingly I can't get onto the studbook on-line so can't check his progeny colours. She's had 2 bay foals so far, despite trying to fool me with the 2nd one. I had high hopes but then I got a washed out bay.

That would suggest he is at least EeA? Cc Rnrn
Not sure about the agouti yet could be homozygous but too small a sample.

So I've just tally charted his registered 81 progeny.

13 Dun
12 Palamino
9 Bay
7 Chestnut
6 Blue Roan
6 Grey
5 Dun Roan
5 Bay Roan
4 Brown
3 Roan
2 Cream
2 Black
1 Chestnut Roan

So now he's heterozygous extension and agouti as he's produced black and red based babies I think. Only changes the percentages slightly. Has your mare produces red or black babies before? I feel super invested in this foal now. He's a lush stud btw! Screenshot_20200508-090530~2.png

I would say bay or chestnut unfortunately I say you probably won’t end up roan foal. My horse sire was really white and my horse ended up being a very bright bay.

She's due in 3 wks. Previous foals, bay colt (by bay stallion) and washed out bay who looked like she may have gone dun but then disappointed me (by dun stallion).

Perhaps I could inject bleach to dilute the bay that's probably growing inside??
