He’s super affectionate compared to other huskies I’ve known it’s very cute
He’s growing already it’s mad

Some times bear is in love with him and they play outside running around like two idiots and then sometimes bear lays under me so I can keep yogi off his face while he tries to sleepCuteness overload! I wouldnt get much done with him in the house Is Bear exhausted by him yet?!
I love the mid-pup stage of them looking almost like foals with longer fluffy puppy legs, skinny body and puppy ears
Unfortunately still not getting that cars are dangerous so any tips on that would be appreciated the noise doesn’t scare him and the post man’s van is electric which doesn’t help at all
Thank you that’s a really good way to explain it and I will most definitely tryIts the irish air! Nearly all dogs i pass on the road chase the wheels of cars!! Its soooo weird why they do that. Rural sheepdogs are the worst. One sheep farmer i know kennelled his dog when it even went for the wheels on his kids bikes while they were playing at home - he was baffled why!
When i pass in the car a house with a dog sitting outside, i take a deep breath and pray..
With my husky/GSD around the farm i would drive the tractor and she’d never get too close, but i always made a point of telling her to ‘get back’ - pointing cue also, while the engine was running, and when moving. If the horn worked i would have used that too as a back-up cue if not paying attention, which could help as other drivers are likely to bip their horn if a dog is too close or not getting out of the way.
If you have a quad you could teach with that in the driveway as training.
It was at the point she was really hooked onto me and listening to me that this was trained, a bit older than yogi is. When the basic training got welded well, then expanded farm training started. I’d get her back from all machinery, areas where chainsaws are working, or diggers etc - all machinery i always consistently told her to ‘get back’, and ‘stay’ (when she retreated far enough) which was trained inside in a room with treats, and then used outside.
It instilled a kind of respect for moving vehicles, to keep back while theyre moving - which she does. People pass on the lane, those she knows that stop here she’ll approach but keep a safe distance as they drive in.
He doesn’t chase them! Tho I’m sure he will start toIt's not weird at all for herding breeds, or anything with high prey drive, which huskies often have, to chase vehicles/wheels, they are kinda bred to be fixated on movement. It's not unusual and it's pretty easy to explain.
Desensitise the dog they way you would with anything, sensible/distanced exposure then reward when nothing happens/the dog is neutral. Engagement and a good relationship is the most important thing, get that first so that all the focus is on you, then most other things are much easier to teach.

He just crawls under them when they’re parked and obviously if you weren’t aware he was there (such as a postman not looking) it potentially wouldn’t end well when he went to move off
So it’s more getting him to realise he can’t crawl under and stand around cars incase he does get hit
So I would like to train him to give them space!
I don’t let him do it by any degree but he does attempt to do itYeah my first part was more to Purbee.
The easiest thing is to physically prevent him from going near parked or moving cars or keep a line on him and practise recalling away from things. At this stage I wouldn't be giving him the freedom to do that (crawl under a car) in the first place. Now it's a new thing you have to train over, but hopefully he hasn't practiced it enough to be a big problem.
At least he is back to normalSo we have discovered after a late vet visit that yogi is mildly allergic to rabbit
Thankfully he is fully back to normal this morning his tablets are working well and it was purely face swelling.
I of course was terrified of his airways closing due to swelling but my vet is an absolute angel!
Yogi always has emergencies on a Sunday but New Year’s Eve is new
