Fantastic news!! So pleased Mary got silver and think NT really deserves the gold - throughout the whole competition hes been in a class of his own and that horse is just heaven!
She was going v slowly, and missed her stride coming into a dogleg and TT stopped and put down in the middle of the fence.. Clock was stopped while they rebuilt the fence and she then had another 1 or 2 fences down
It was a four long strided distance (or that was whatmost were going on) she went for a really long stride cos she held in the distance to get the four, TT put in a little one and then landed in middle!
Was a shame but still to come 6th is pretty good, and Mary King did such a lovely round
PS i know i am english but i love nicholas touzaint he is brilliant and charming, and not at all arrogant, there are a few english riders who might take note and there are not many peeps who polish off two european champs before they are thirty. the horse is fantastic i have seen it in the flesh several times loving it! but probably not as much as blackeventer eh flo!
You're right Lu, Galan's an amazing animal and Nico has a great partnership with him. Everyone was worried when he was off the circuit for a while for injuries. Thank god they were just minor !
Still, GB is the best eventing nation and fully deserves gold
One horse to watch in the future will be Jolly Hope de Treille (Cedric Lyard)
Bit late coming on here so hope someone still looks at this. I was puzzled by Tina Cooks comments when Zara had the stop. She said it was 4 faults for the stop and 4 for the knock down, Clare Balding queried it but she said the same again I think. Now unless eventing rules are different surely she would only have had one lot of 4 faults, the fence came down because the horse stopped didn't it? Please can someone enlighten me, I might be hopelessly out of date in which case I apologise .
