Well for anyone who’s interested, I thought Id drop a quick post about our first intro. We had a great day and I was so pleased with my little horse; especially saying I was considering retiring him at the start of May

Our dressage was interesting, ended up with 37; but the ground was horrendous - couldn’t hold Chance together at all so he just skated around on his forehand!

SJ went very well

(for Chance

), I got 4 faults as we failed to make the distance in a double, but it was expected as he's only very short striding.

The Xc course was horrendous, I was last to go after 2 days of heavy rain, the mud must have been 5 inches deep over the first 4 or 5 fences

. Fortunately my little Irish bog-trotter was golden, and didn’t care in the slightest he popped around beautifully clear

. We got a shed load of time, but so did everyone else.

All in all we finished 13th, & a good day was had by all!

NB:4faulter, did you have a good day?

well done, it is a lovely place though isn't it. My OH works there sometimes as he leases the racetrack. I have stayed in the big house too, very impressive place. Edward the land owner is very keen to put sometning into the equestrian world through his events.

Thanks guys.

And thistle: thanks, it was a lovely place. I dont know if you can remember, but it was you who told me to go there in the first place, it really was a great event; thanks for the tip!

Did you spot any fences sponsored by mi (blue logo on a white banner) or see a programme add for the company. That is our business.

We were in the intro too - about half way down the class and the mud was already pretty bad!

Merry hated the dressage too - the top of the arena seemed to slope a bit and he couldn't get his balance sorted in the mud. Husband took great pics though in front of the house.

We had the double down too.

Naw doesnt he look all grown up.

Well done hunny, you must be delighted

he came up trumps when required after all.

Well done Jemayni, an excellent start to the season

well done jemayni, what horrible weather but you made it to the end. The weather can only get better. A friend from the yard went on Tuesday but I haven`t had time to speak to her yet. She went early on in the morning.

Sm: they are great pics; the dressage really was horrendous wasnt it! My mum likened my test to watching bambi on ice!

Peanot, yes I suppose your right, I cant believe it is nearlly June and I was running on ground like that, Ive hunted on firmer ground!

BBs. Thx, it could be the end of the seaon as well as he was v.pottery today! We had fun though & he can now go back to being a dressage horse

Well done!!

I watched some of the dressage and showjumping and it was awful!!

I didn't see one clear round in the showjumping and the first 5 I watched were eliminated!!

Thanks.

Really proud of him - it was his first outing (exactly a year since he came from Doncaster Sales - spooky).

He did very well to cope with the ground. He kept wanting to give up XC (bless) - I had to keep chasing him between fences!

I do hope its nothing serious. Keep us posted.

He should be fine by the weekend; hes very susceptible to concussion injuries, & I think he might have just jarred himself somehow despite the wet. Realistically eventing him long term isnt going to happen as his legs just dont stand up to it, hence our very short season of one event
