Are you all paying?? despite having a reasonable summer Hay prices have gone up around here..so prices for..
Small Bale Hay.
Big Round Bale Hay.
Big Round Bale Haylage..

If you could be so kind...and if anyone knows of any good priced stuff around Lancashire (Rochdale) then that would be a added bonus

we pay £2.50 for small bale haylage, and think it cost us about £12 per bale to make our own large round bale haylage however my friend is paying £25 per bale for her large round bale haylage.

Bought a large rectangular bale today for £25. This seems quite good coz I'm sure there's more than 10 small bales in there (plus the guy I buy it off is so gorgeous it cheers me up all day - what's that worth?) On the down side, he cant get it through my barn door so has to drop it outside, then I cut the string & have to carry it in & stack it in individual flaps!

I have to use the YOs hay and its always 4.50 a bale, and with my big hog of a horse eating approximately 12-14 bales a month,I shall be mostly living on value baked beans over the winter

im £18.50 for a large round bale of hay and £5 for a small bale and £6.50 for a small round bale of haylage and they go through a s*it load of it hence the lack of a social life the booze money and more is paying for my hay ....i hate winter time

£5.50 for small hay, £35 for large hay and £30 for large haylage - me thinks us west of Scotland peeps are being hard done by seeing your prices - cheers Scottish weather for that!

Just paid £4.00/bale small bale hay. It's very nice stuff, but the going rate is £3.50 round here, so I doubt I will be buying any more from him (and the bales are not particularly "dense" either if you get what I mean).
