In our lesson today we picked up a few of gypsys underlying problems;
He wouldn't canter on the left rein on the right leg.
When walking his back end was clicking
On our hack home I swear his back hooves were knocking together :(
They're most probibaly all linked, nothing wrong with his back or saddle we can't figure out what it is :/
Also, he was lame on his back end a couple of years ago, but he's never been able to canter on the left rein without doing a flying change and then he's fine, but today he just couldn't do it and you coult see he was frustrated :(
Any ideas??

Perhaps clicking/sticking patella? What is he like going down hill? If he struggles and tries to go down like a crab/sideways that would be my guess.

Hmmm, vet trip I would imagine as it is probably something joint related.

Is Gypsy on any joint supps, or oil? xx

He's perfectly sound up and down hill, he had vitamin and mineral powder, garlic and linseed oil with his tea which is a mixture of horse and pony nuts, molichop chaff and herbal mix.
Like I said, perfectly sound, we even had a canter along a track which had some down hill parts and he was fine, just noticed in our lesson him back end is clicking and on our way home his back legs were hitting eachither I think on the inside of his heel. x

have you ever had his back done?

He had bowens therapy about 6 months ago and there wasn't much wrong tbh. Also we have a friend who does homeopathy and other things like that and she can't find anything wrong with his back. He's not flinchy atall on his back when you tack up and ride ect.

I would say he is due a visit from the back peeps again! See if he has done something in the field. Is he brushing behind? can you see any marks?

I think he's brushing his hooves together? But surely the amount of hair he has would protect them?
He was lame in his back fetlock about 2 years ago which could be something to do with it?
