So sorry I don’t send you all a photo. Its been one of those weeks, and thank tonthose who offered advice
But I did go and meet him . He came running up to me and started licking my chin , his little tail didn’t stop wagging . I felt a little over whelmed, which surprised me as I’m not the soppy type ( usually) .
He has a swagger about him for sure . I spoke to the family and they are all in agreement that we need him in our lives . Even my husband who I wasn’t sure about is actually looking quite excited about him .
So please meet Stirling . He comes home next week !!

please give me all your puppy advice / tips

He’s gorgeous! I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed. I had first pick of the girls in the litter my pup was from and I didn’t know how I would choose until one climbed onto my lap and started chewing my finger. She’s my first lab and I am a complete convert to the breed now.

He is lovely!
All Labrador pups are gorgeous, yours sounds delightful.
When we went to choose ours, I opened the gate and a dark yellow pup immediately came and said, 'you've come for me, haven’t you?' We chose her and her black sister but she isn't actually as confident as she appeared that day. She is one of the softest dogs we have ever had though.
My late mum chose her first Lab because when she went to view the litter, he chewed her shoelace.

The black one came home because she got hold of my skirt ( I foolishly wore a longish, very flared skirt for puppy choosing!) and then looked sideways at me, with her little eye whites showing

When I looked at my collies litter I wanted a dog , i chose the black one with white chest and stripe on head. There were 5 dogs and 1 bitch. Once I was home I couldn’t stop thinking about the black and white bitch ,who had been all over me so phoned breeder and asked if I could have another look. I chose the bitch and breeder said she knew I would as the bitch had chosen me..she was a fantastic dog and I lost her in 2021 age 15

Stirling came home wih us yesterday morning. A 10 minute trip in the car .
he’s been around the yard met all the horses and the two cats . Bert was nice with him , but Bob the bad cat is work in progress. Although this morning Bob did seem to have mellowed already .
so far we’ve got the majority of the wees and poos outside . Popped him to bed at 10.30 and he slept through with me waking him up at 7am . Took him outside and he did two big poos and 3 wees I’m hoping that continues!. He’s taken a real shine to my son which is lovely and my husband thinks he’s wonderful too .
he seems to have named the snug as his room already ?
