Just a follow-up thread for those who were interested!
So she had an all-over bath, then I smothered her mane and tail in Cowboy Magic liquid detangler moisturiser thing. Then I solocombed her mane, which didn't work as I'd hoped-just too much like scissors and she looked ridiculous because it was so thick. So I raided my boyfriends tack drawer! And stole his mane rake---well, that did the trick alright! All the weight taken out of it, nice and fluffy and good condition
Then I chopped a load off her tail and went through it with the rake too, took LOADS out and I still think its ridiculously bushy but it's much better!
Then I clipped her feathers. She was good as gold for three out of four feet, was a knobber for the 4th but as her first ever time being clipped I'll let her off! So pleased I clipped because the dirt under those supposedly clean feathers, mank! Her feet look quite shocked! Very blunt in places, will have to perfect the technique but it gives you an idea of what she'd look like trimmed out
So, she used to look like this:
And now she looks like this!:
Let me know what you think! It doesn't matter if people don't like it, hair grows back!! she was beautifully well behaved today bless her.
