Last night I went to a local riding school to watch my friends kid have a lesson.
One of the ponies being used looked very familiar to me and I realised it was a pony I had on loan a good 12/13 years ago!
I absolutely adored this pony. I had him from when he was 4 till he was 6 and I was forced to give him pony up when we moved and the lady who owned him did not want him to move with me. I was heartbroken for a long time afterwards and to this day think about him frequently.
The sight of him being riden round by this kid who was pony club kicking him pretty much for the whole lesson while the instructor shouted 'smack him with your whip. Hes being lazy' very nearly moved me to tears. It was a world away from the forward going, amazing young pony that I knew.
Afterwards I went and found him and gave him a big cuddle (I did cry at this point)
It brought back so many memories, both happy and painful.
No real point to this post and I realise how wet I sound! Just needed to vent.
Thanks
