Has anyone got a racemaster 3.5t? How have you found them? Interested in people's experiences, good or bad?

I used to be decisive, now I'm not so sure...
I have not seen one in the flesh, because when we were looking I noticed that they are the type where the horse can see to the back, but the door is too small for a horse to get out of, which IMO is a death trap.
The types of lorries, where the horse can climb, and then be trapped is generally thought to be dangerous, even by the Fire Brigade.
Apologies if they have either changed their design or I have made a mistake with these particular boxes. I had a glance at their web site and it is not obvious about the design, but I do believe this is why we discounted them.
I would look for a box where it is either a stallion stall (no breast bar) or a type with easily collapsible breast bar and a door wide enough to extricate the horse without needing to call the emergency services. Also that the passenger cell is protected against a horse sized hole!
Before buying I would check what their escape route is in a Racemaster, if there is a climb hazard, they may have had it covered, if I had actually spoken to them.

I've got an ancient one. I took it back to racemaster in Marlborough to have an anti climb barrier fitted. The new ones have this as standard apparently, they make a lot of basic boxes for professionals transporting horses so thy are well built without much in the way of fancy additions. That said, they were a helpful approachable company who would be able to do anything extra for you I'm sure .
I love mine, it's an oldie but a goodie.
Eta I was told by travel two horseboxes that racemaster kind of pionerred the climb barriers so I don't think it's quite fair to describe them as death traps , lol. They told me they won't sell a box without one unless expressly asked.

RACEMASTER FACTS:-
Original concept and originally designed by us from 1982 . Constantly updated and developed throughout the years. Designed by someone who actually understands Horses and livestock transportation in general .
All Racemasters are built using a tubular space frame construction, and all alloy clad inside and out. We use a bi- metal conductor to prevent alloy corrosion .
The first and only box of this type to have a TRUE safety cell inbuilt into the main structure , ( not a framework glued in as an after thought )
