Racing today

Sorry time to retire him, i thought hed broken a leg at first as looked in a dodgy position when he was on the floor

You've got away with it once, twice and now a 3rd time, you cant keep getting away with it, and its not like hes just unseating

What happened with the new lion? I had the racing on my phone and was focusing on the F1 start!

With CH, it doesnt make it any more "entitled" than any other horses, but with a more "prominent" horse like him, you open yourself up to far more criticism if something happens to him, especially as they've had 3 warnings at this point (and he wasn't great at Punchestown apparently). Its been 3 near identical falls now, all heavy

Sounds like he's a lovely "person" on the ground, so could be a fab ROR for someone. Hes trying to tell them something, can only hope they listen to him and dont persist just because hes youngish still

If I trained CH, I'd have given him a run or two on the flat to get his raceday confidence up. He looked really good before his racecourse gallop, calm and confident. Today he looked tense and worried. He'll know the difference between a day out and the real thing.

I really hope they don't try him again.

I did think that could be an option if still wanting to race him. I’m not good at race distances but Hunt Cup at Ascot?

Yep no need to flog him on the flat, hes given them some big days, now time to do the right thing by him

Hes not going to be winning group ones on the flat, 8 is old for a flat horse

There's no need to run him for the sake of running him

Not sure what his owner is like in terms of doing the right thing by his horses?

There will rightly be an outcry if they carry on and hes killed, because they've now got away with it 3 times, you cant keep doing so

Glad I was watching the F1. I said last time CH fell that he needed to be retired, he is a wonderful person and could do a great job. I hope he is retired now as I would hate for him to die on a racetrack.

They've just shown Nicky's interview

Almost feels like the pressure is coming from the owner to keep going

Why does he need to run on the flat, he wont be running in g1s so feels like you are running him for the sake of it, in quality of races below what he's been in

Seen people suggest blinkers, no!

Thank him for what hes done, and send him to have some ROR fun. Agree with Nicky that fences would result in someone getting hurt, if he did that at a fence...

Lots of people suggesting changing Nico, not sure you could take the risk. Yes Nico MAY subconsciously be giving signals as hes worried hes going to do it again, but what if its not Nico, you change the jockey and he gets killed?

Nico always has a lot of haters. Tbh I’m not sure he’s the best in a tactical race but on a standalone horse he’s fabulous.
