i have just found a small amount in one of my paddocks,luckly not where the horses graze,i have been told that roundup will kill it is this true also how long before thay can use the paddock thanks

Dont bother with round-up. Just dig it up and dispose of it.

pull it out from the root bag it up and take it to the tip !

Round up will kill it but I've found you need to use 3 times the normal doseage rate and it does take weeks to take it down. Fine if you can keep the horses off for a couple of months.

Plus side is it won't come back.

I used it this year because dispite digging every piece out with a ragfork it was coming back twice as hard.

Round up has worked a treat.

..... don't take it to the tip! There's always a risk of a few seeds escaping. SET FIRE TO IT once you have dug it up! Mind you, if you can get a fork into the ground at the moment you're stronger than I am!

Dig it up from the roots and burn it, wear gloves when you handle it.

i use a flat-head screwdriver to loosen the roots so i can get ragwort up out of hard ground. then burn it.
