Touching the fluffy damp unrugged youngsters this morning they were warm! About 12° here today

Storm passing….the surrounding valley forestry trees are yelling their whooshing sounds like a Mexican wave! It started in the night and woke both me and OH up…eventually got back to sleep.
It’s tailing off now. Not as bad as forecast for rain thankfully. They said likelyhood of heavy rains and flooding but the wind seems to have blown the rain clouds faster than they can empty!

Hope everyone stays secure and warm while this passes. At least it’s milder with this southern storm passing through. Those sudden minus 5 nights last week were a bit of a shock to the system!

It wasn't too bad rainwise when I left this morning, but there is So Much water everywhere. The gateways are awful despite mudmats, in part thanks to one horse who is out of his routine and gate hanging. I know we need rain for the reservoirs and groundwater, but I could really do with it being gentle mizzle not 2 months' worth in a day.

It's been foul in North Wilts all day. Peeing down, but not too windy at the moment. I took Bird's rug off yesterday to ride and didn't bother replacing it as it was so mild. She's too wet and muddy to put it back on now, I expect she hates me.
