Since I've retired my horse it's become obvious he's unlikely to need the lovely heavy weight combo rugs he owns!
He's currently in a 200g no neck and really a little bit warm which I hate.
I thought I may sell what I have apart from a couple of energancy bits and invest in a Rambo duo. As the main rug is 100g it would be ideal for now but obviously I could have a liner or two In case of colder weather.
Problem being I'm aware the necks generally seem not to fit! £280 ish is a lot of money to spend especially if the necks useless.
I'm not even 100% sure he needs a neck cover so wondered if there is a cheaper but as good quality option of a 100g turnout that I can add liners to?

Has the horse got a big neck? I use horseware on my TB who doesn't have a huge neck & the neck covers are fine on him. I've got a duo & a supreme & they're both really great rugs & so versatile with the liners. I've also used the amigo bravos & the rhino's & really rate them. Just decided when the old boy started living out last winter that I'd treat him to Rambos! They are expensive but I really rate them. Think if you hunt about on eBay you'll get a duo for less than £280.

Rambo original with leg arches, no fill. Compatible with all the Horsewear liners. Fab rugs, and so versatile.
Ah ok, I may look out for this one then.
No he hasn't got a massive neck but is a ID X type so not scrawny. So many people have mentioned the neck and my old TB's didn't fit.
I have a few Rhinos but they don't come in a 100g... However a cheaper option I hadn't considered would be to buy a few liners for my Rhino light weight!

This is what iv just done, all mine are kitted out with duos but my old mare wasnt because she still had several rugs but has now wreaked her lite weight and medium weight is nearly dead, will make it do this winter. Iv brought this Rambo orginal with leg arches so I can make whatever weight rug I choose.
As much as I love the duo, as a lot of mine are now older so not clipped even the 100g is a bit on the warm side for their thick coats so will be buying 0g from now on.

But make sure its the orginal with leg arches!!! As the Rambo orginal is not a liner system.

do the new original with leg arches have the attachments for the necks? I am also contemplating this as I have 4 necks knocking about and need a new LW rug to fix one to :)

I've just bought a Masta Climatemasta, its a 100g combo and the liners fit in to folds inside the rug so the whole thing behaves as one rug, was very impressed with it when I saw it at HOYS, the outer which has 100g of fill is usually £100 but found it for £60 on ebay

Yes they do :) I won't buy anything other than rhino or Rambo rugs.

I do a lot of holiday cover for people when they go away and I see so many god awful rugs that don't fit at all, its just so bad! Horseware fit all my horses and won't use any other make.

excellent, decision made then. The detatching surcingles on the new ones will be perfect for Kira and her destructive ways too. I agree, I'm a 100% Rambo disciple, they've never let me down.
