Would anyone be interested in hearing about my little foal twins born in October? The smallest one is struggling with wonky legs and I am trying hard to get him the right treatment? Would anyone be interested in seeing photos of them?

photo's needed definitely!!!

Well that's over 80 views and 4 replies in a just a few minutes. Having written to at least 3 of the Horse & Hound Editors to see if they would be interested I did not even receive the courtesy of a reply. This is when I regularly advertise with them, and no doubt they will publish the results of the AES grading last week of which my stallion made grading and my daughter's sj results are published. The Times found it interesting enough to publish but not the dedicated horse bible H&H! Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Thank you you for showing an interest - can someone tell me how to post the photos!!! My little twins were born to a mare who I was told was BARREN! This is why she was not scanned. Even when we called the vet when the mare looked on the heavy side he just looked at her and said she wasn't in foal. When he eventually examined her she was around 7 months in foal! Of course then, it would not have been possible to feel twins in there. The first I knew about it was when another tiny pair of feet appeared after the first twin was born. Two wonderful twin colts. The tiny one, Fell was up the next day and feeding, the other Vinnie took two more days. Little Fell has really wonky legs and the vets want to put him to sleep. I won't let them. A company from Ireland has sent special boots at £900 each and told me I can pay when I can raise funds. These boots have wonderful results.

Lots more to tell - but thank you for interest.

have you got a photo bucket account? If not, you need one. Uploading photo's from your computer to photo bucket is extremely easy and straight forward. When you have done this, underneath your photo will be a list of codes. Go to the IMG Code, copy it, and paste it on your post. It will look similar to this....

ahh bless them! sounds like they are a pair of little fighters. I hope they continue to do so and the wonky legs straighten. There have been a few cases of wonky legs this year, and if you post in breeding you might get some feedback from people with first hand experience.

Good luck with them and we look forward to seeing the photos!

WOW thats incredible ! If he's got a good quality of life don't pts you can tell that he is the weaker of the two but he deserves your help .

Truely amazing

We had twins out of a maiden mare at my stud\yard (and by a very well known dressage stallion who is no longer around). The gelding seemed to have suffered oxygen starvation although not so you would really notice, but he was a little slow to pick up on things. He eventually went to a home where he wouldn't have too much asked of him. The mare is still at our yard (I think they are about 6 or 7 yo now) and she has a twisted fetlock\hoof from the cramped conditions inside, it doesn't stop her doing well in dressage though.

I can't see the piccies here at work but will have a look when I get home. Congrats!

Oh they are gorgeous, thanks for sharing your story and pics.

My friend's mare was had been scanned in foal - it was a bit of a surprise when she had twins! One was much smaller than the other, and it had quite wonky legs, but they both survived and the wonky legs sorted themsleves out - they were gorgeous too.

They are by my stallion Elysian Jasper (who Sofie, the twins mum spent a few days with after vet said she was barren before I moved her to another paddock). she must have conceived as the vet left from scanning her and saying she was barren! The little chesnut is Fell (aka Elysian De-La Roche after their great grandshire Lugano van la Roche, sire of Darko) and the other is Vinnie (aka Elysian De-Lux after their grandsire, the Olympic stallion Lux). Their big brother, Elysian Ronald, graded with the AES on Friday!!!

aw, that brought a tear to me eyes seeing the photos, love them. fingers crossed little one can straighten out.
