i think there are a few on here who feed raw meat. Where are you all and what meats/ bones do you feed for a balanced diet??

Im just converting little Alfie at the moment. He's been enjoying his chicken thighs, chicken mince and just got him some rib bones and chicken carcass's today for later on in the week!

I will forward onto you the massively lengthy PM that MarleyandDarcy very kindly sent to me when I was asking about raw feeding

I feed my dogs all different kinds of things, cooked & raw meat and dry food too. Even when my pups were born they were fed raw minced chicken, beef, fish, tripe & lamb, they loved it and they were fine on it, after all in the wild, they wouldnt be cooking there prey before eating it, its natural for them.

In the wild, they will eat the stomach contents of the prey too (which contains vegetation), dogs are more omniverous than we realise, so some veg won't go amiss plus veg contains vits and minerals you can't get from meat alone.

Here is a link to a previous thread I replied to recently

Best source is to befriend a local butcher, they are really good and have a variety of bones and meats usually for a very small cash outlay as they have to pay to burn all the offcuts!!! My two's main meals cost £5 per month!!! Butchers are the best place to get chicken carcasses and lamb rib bones.

If you are in a hurry or running low then supermarket value ranges of chicken wings, Morrisons do a "soup" pack of lamb bones for about 60p and they also do lambs hearts, which can be hard to find. I feed pet shop green (uncleaned) tripe and the occasional veg meal but blended, basically look for the reduced section!

I feed my five on Dodson & Horrells Chudleigh Sensitive plus my local butcher saves me all his chicken pieces and sells them to me in a huge carrier bag full for £5, which my dogs love. However, I'm not sure how much raw meat constittutes a proper meal for a dog! Any guidance would be appreciated!
